I have had the orange one but where I was in a car accident I had to replace it and the car ins comp told me I could get a new one didn't. Have to be the same and I love this car seat so much I had to get it again. And since they don't have the orange which my sons fav color is blue he's so happy. Love how the arm rest can move up and down to get out of the way. Love how u can change which side the cup holder is on. Love how you can adjust the back so if there little they. Can tilt back more. Love hos the head rest can be moved to your childs height. Love how he can stay in the car seat. Till he's 100lbs my sisters 18 and weights 115 so it will deff last untill he. Can be done with carseats. And boosters. My fav thing about the whole car. Seat it that its breathable my son sweats a lot and in the car seat he may sweat but not as bad as the other one we had for him when he was an baby. (He 2.5)

I bought this for my son when I was ready to transition him to a forward facing seat. So far its done the job and he is 27 months. I never rated the carseat because I figured they were all the same and it does the job. However, tonight for the first time, I figured I would take the cover off to clean it. That was a nightmare! You have to take the car seat out of the car, remove the seat from the base, unhook the cover, remove the harness and finally pop out 2 fastners with a screw driver. It took major muscle and about 30/40 minutes (I had to read the instructions to figure it out several times). Sure, I could have used a carpet cleaner on it but I wanted a deeper clean and to clean the whole seat so that wasn't really an option. I am really dreading the day I have to clean it again and therefore I would suggest when you are searching for a carseat consider this! I wish I had did more research because it really shouldn't be that hard!

YOU ALL NEED CAR SEAT TRAINING!

By Child passenger Safety Tech

from AZ

Comments about Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat - Seaside Bay:

You all seriously need to find your nearest safety tech or go to the fire department to find out how to properly use and install your seats. This is an AWESOME seat the only one you would need to buy. Infant seats are not meant for babies to sleep in, or meant for shopping carts etc... You can refer to safe kids worldwide to find your nearest child passenger safety tech. You would be amazed at al the info you can get.

MY SON HAS BEEN USING THIS CAR SEAT FOR THREE YEARS AND HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE ADJUSTING HEADREST...THERE ARE NO CLEAR PICTURES ON HOW THE BARS WORK OR HOW THEY SHOULD BE ON THE BACK OF THE CAR SEAT. LONG STORY SHORT THEY CAME APART FROM THE SYSTEM AND WHEN I TRIED TO PUT THEM BACK AGAIN I CALLED COSTUMER SERVICE FOR HELP...THEY TOLD ME THOSE ARE NOT REMOVABLE PARTS AND THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO DO...SO WE CAN'T USE OUR CAR SEAT ANYMORE. I YOU WANT THIS CAR SEAT BE AWARE OF THAT AND THAT IF YOU TAKE THE COVER OUT TO WASH YOU WILL HAVE A LOT OF TROUBLE.

Received this as a gift but if it were up to me I would not recommend or buy. Reward facing is such a pain to install. When my daughter falls asleep she slouches too much in the seat because even in its highest recline setting, it still doesn't recline enough. In order to adjust to the right recline position you are advised from the company to use rolled up towels. Are you kidding me?!!?! I am baffled as to how people can rate this product so high. I fear that this can cause a chocking hazard in smaller babies. Terrible carseat

I got this to transition my daughter out of her carrier seat and use as a longterm car seat. I have had it less than 2 months and I am getting ready to get rid of it and buy a different model. It is impossible to install, doesn't fit well in the back, and never seems to be fully secured with the LATCH system. The buckle will not tighten. Also even with the seat reclined all the way back, my rear-facing daughter is always slumping forward and is not comfortable at all. I'm really disappointed in this purchase.

my son is now 3 and I loved the idea of getting 1 car seat that would grow with him. However it is very difficult to clean. very hard to take apart and put back together. The straps always get twisted up and stuck even if I have just spent and hour taking it apart to fix them. not user friendly takes more work than its worth

This style of the alpha elite is absolutely terrible. I own another one for my daughter and that one is much different. This one feels very hard looks cheap. There are spots where you can see the Styrofoam inside. I am so unhappy with this seat. And getting it exchanged for a new one has been a nightmare. Toys r us customer service is the worst. Since I used a coupon that is expired now, they had to send my information to a supervisor, which I still have not heard from. Do not get this car seat. Your poor baby will be extremely uncomfortable.

I got this seat at my baby shower, did not use it until my daughter was 2 months or so. (We used the seat that has a separate carrier) She was rear facing in the seat for over 2 years and has been front facing since (she is a peanut at 5 yrs and 35 lbs). The seat is not easy to clean, having to disassemble it and put it all back together, however once you do it, it gets easier. I have had to do this maybe 4 times since we've had it and it has held up in the washing machine quite well. The one we have is beige corderoy (bought in 2008). It has been a great seat and we will be using it as a booster as well (as soon as she gains 5 more pounds or so!)

This seat is VERY hard to instal rear facing. I could not get my seat belt to go through the correct spacing due to it being too tight. The latch system would get tight in my car.

I loved this car seat at first. It was very easy to install and loved the reclining option. When I attempted to clean the seat it was a total disaster. It was extremely difficult to get the cover off the seat. You had to take off all the harnesses and remove the seat from the base. The worst part was once I washed the cover in the washer it fell apart. The material shredded at all the seams. I am going to attempt to contact Safety 1st because we paid a substantial amount of money for this seat and only got 4 months use. Oh and the bar in the back that is used to adjust the height keeps breaking off. BEWARE!
