My 8 year old did this for Science Fair. It is a great kit. It was easy to do with a little help from Dad. The glow in the dark paint is a really neat touch - the "lava" looks like it glows in the dark. Some people say that they could have included more paint which is probaly true but if you have kids at home, you probably have paint - no?

This project was fun for my 11 year old. However we were very disappointed that they only provided enough paint to cover 10% of the volcano. Yet the photo on the box shows a beautifully painted multi-colored volcano. False advertising.

My 6 year old and I set out to make this volcano and it was very frustrating getting the string onto the tube and base properly. It kept falling off or pulling the tube to one side and my son and I were both very disappointed. After about 30 minutes of messing with knotted string and bases that didn't split right, we finally finished it. Now we are taking a break before we get started on the strips and painting.

Fun Project - not enough paint provided

It was a fun project. I did it with my 5 year old...and with teamwork, he was able to complete it. They don't provide enough paint with the kit, so plan on buying your own (really cheap at [@]). All in all it was fun and I'd do it again.
