The defense system is extremely horrendous. One of the worst soccer games I have ever played. Who ever designed the defense system deserves blame for ruining one of the most acclaimed soccer series in gaming history. If I could have gave it a half a star I would.

This is better than FIFA 11. Dont be fooled by the reviewers who CANT PLAY DEFENSE. Fifa 12 brings SKILL to defending. You cant just hold a button ans send a computer player charging to steal the ball. You have to actually PLAY DEFENSE. It creates a more realistic game. Everything else is improved on as well. People are going to whine about defense cause now they actually have to play defense rather than let the computer do it for them.

Worst FIFA game ever.

This is the worst FIFA game I've ever played before. You can't play defense at all. As a defender you are not able to press your opponent at all. By holding the x button the closet you get is a few feet away. To steal the ball you have 2 press circle. If you miss your opponent is long gone & practically about 2 score or at the very least get a shot on goal. In FIFA 11 I would average 60% possession in the game & 57% online. In FIFA 12 I'll get 50% possession if I'm lucky cuz it so hard 2 get the ball from the opposing team. I barely do decent on very hard where in FIFA 11 I'd smoke the CPU. Don't buy this game & make the same mistake I did. Next year I'll try the demo & if FIFA 13 is anything like FIFA 12 I won't buy it.

I got the game last week and was really looking forward to playing FIFA 2012. Me and a buddy (we both play FIFA 2011 a lot) started playing the game and after an hour, we were so disappointed and annoyed by the new gameplay features that we went back to FIFA 2011. FIFA 2012 is A LOT slower than 2011 and the defense is setup so that it is really difficult to steal the ball from, or even slow down, the offensive players. I feel like EA really took a step back with FIFA 2012. I'm returning FIFA 2012 and sticking with the 2011 version.
