This product is a nightmare. Sure, it goes up, but has a mind of its own and changes direction without moving the joystick. I've owned many 3-channel helicoptors in the past and this is the worst.

Took it out of the box, charged it, and it went up, stopped, had a seizure and doesnt work anymore

I bought this product, one each, for my son (12y) & daughter (10y) for Christmas. It really proved to be a good challenge for both my kids learning to coordinate the different controls. Once they got the hang of it they were able to maneuver and land it anywhere. However after playing it for a couple hours one of the helicopter propellers broke. On the Packaging it claims it is made up of crah resistant plastic, which I first believed with how many times it hit the floor, walls and ceiling. Thankfully I was able to return it for a replacement without hassle.

I've purchased several Air Hog items in the past and for the most part my kids have loved them. The only unfortunate thing is that they are guaranteed to break no matter how well you take care of them. The material may be crash resistant, but after several crashes and time it WILL BREAK. I would recommend this item IF you are willing to take advantage of the 1 year mfg warranty. If NOT this is not the toy for you. As I said before breakage on this item is a guarantee. My kids certaintly enjoy every minute they are able to play with it even if it is only for a short time. I think having an RC vehicle is part of childhood even if it's for a short period of time.
