Lots of parts, took most of 3 hours to put it together and the instructions could have been better at identifying the parts (pictures very small). Grandson, 4yrs, is very detail oriented and LOVED it. We have an upstairs and basement that it had to be moved to wherever he was. He takes care to keep all the little parts together away from smaller kids. He liked the idea of being able to drop anchor and reel it in; remove or leave sails on; open the captains quarter or put things below deck in the hull; and the very 'pirateness' of this ship. We have no intent of floating it. It has roller wheels that move the ship nicely on the floor. Very well engineered and seems very durable. Also, playmobil toys are great to combine their pirates, soldiers, dragons, vikings, for interactive play.

The toy ship is super realistic with lots of small parts,everything moves and works. My son has had hours of fun playing with it since Christmas morning. The only downside was it took about three hours to put it together, but the directions were really good and no tools were required.

Wonderful toy for five year old. Be aware the directions are awful, but still goes together well. Has great play value and holds children's attention.

I wouldn't want to put it in the water due to sails being made of paper. Instructions are hard to see. Parts are not organized, so it takes a while to find what you need.

It's a great toy and not to bead to put together but, it cones apart easy and their are alot of little parts and string that get lost east and break easy. Good toy but not worth the money.

Takes forever to put together, but actually fun to do so, kind of like Legos. My son has 3 of these now, and has battles. He absolutely loves this ship. Only thing is, it doesn't have a plank to walk like his other one, but it's a terrific ship. Much cheaper than other playmobil ships and just as cool/big.

We bought this for our grandson's 5th birthday and he is thrilled! He has a thing about pirates and this was just the kind of toy we were hoping to find. My daughter said it took a while to study the directions and get it put together, and there were random pieces left over, but it goes together and stays together and he loves it! He also loves that there are other sets that give him extra pirates and treasures for play.

This is a great toy which provides hours of fun. Comes with many small parts that wouldn't be great in a home with children under three. My son has other playmobil sets which are well made and add to the fun. The sails of the ship get in the way when you try to play but are easy to remove. The directions are helpful if you pay attention to the strings. They are different sizes so measure before placing on the ship. This toy is well worth the money. The quality is excellent and it is made in Germany NOT CHINA.

I ordered this PlayMobil ship for my 3-1/2 year old son after putting together the Pirates of the Caribbean Hero Ship Playset that a total disappointment. This one, while more costly, is made so much better and is so much more kid friendly. It doesn't fall apart every time you touch it, like the other. It's actually made for a kid. I also really like the look of it. It's cute, not scary. The little men are fun to play with and we love how they can slide along the sail lines.

My one complaint would be that the two large sails do not stay attached to their frames at the bottom and the red spool comes off too easily. Other than that, we love it!

I recommend the sails be threaded to their frames and the red spool be a tighter fit.

This is not a review of the Playmobil Pirate ship. It is a review of how awful Toys 'r' Us.com's customer service is. I, liked another person commented on, also recieved the incorrect ship -- the Skull and Bones ship (a [$] item). I called customer service which said they'd immediately send me the correct ship and a return shipment label. Curiously, I never recieved an email confirmation, so I called a few hours later only to be told this item was now out-of-stock. They offered me a 15% discount to use on my next purchase either online or in-store (so long as I called from guest services with my order number). This was for my son's approaching birthday...so I ran to the Times Square location (knowing they only had limited quantities (1 to be exact) of a different, but largish, Playmobil Pirate ship. The customer service in-store was great -- they credited me with 15% off. However, the customer service rep from the .com branch denied ever having offered me a 15% credit in-store while trying to resolve the matter. Seriously?!?!? I had some choice expletives for the rep. Had I not called the online customer service number back...we would still be waiting or his birthday persent...
