Bike arrived without all the parts

We purchased this bike online for my son's birthday. It arrived as promised which was great. We opened the box the night before his birthday and went to put it together. The first thing I noticed was it wasn't the same model as described online. Online it is yellow and black and we got a red and white one. I put both wheels on and noticed there was no seat in the box. So I then tried to test the gears and it wouldn't shift and the back wheel was caught on something. The lower part of the rear wheel gears was bent in towards the wheel and in between two spokes. Called the 1-800 number and they said we could return it to the store or ship it back. We took it to the store and ended up getting another Mongoose model which ended up costing me 26.00 more dollars!

Missing Seat???

We received this cool looking bike 3 days before our son's 12th birthday. We assumed we would get the yellow as indicated in the picture. Possibly it stated somewhere in the online description that "color would vary"? But, that was beside the point because this bicycle was shipped without it's seat. How could this be overlooked? That, along with the gear shifter "thingy" (don't know official name; it's below the row of gears on the right side of the rear tire)was bent inward toward the tire. Upon shifting, it stuck the spokes of the rear tire. Not that our son could even try riding it because there was NO SEAT!

Too bad, too, because I think our son would have enjoyed it.

By the way, it was packaged with scant packing material surrounding the frame and there was nothing indicating "This Side Up" on the box. It very well could have been layed flat with something heavy laying on top of it.

We're sending it back and not re-ordering.

I bought this bike for my son. He's outgrown every bike he's had within 2 years. This one seems to have enough seat and handle adjustment to last longer. He loves the smooth ride because of the shocks. So far he's taken it out on dirt paths and small hills.
