No worries of someone tapping in, its impossible. Doesnt have all the bells and whsitles as the other Moto products but as a opening price point product its a great value.I recommend it!

We have a relatively small 1 story 2-bedroom duplex unit. We wanted a monitor that had video but didnt need a crazy big screen or color image. The most important thing, of course is the audio. We want to hear when our baby cries. Because our place is pretty small we didnt require a super long range either.
This monitor seems to work fine, the only issue with it, which it mentions nowhere in the manual is the fact that if there is no noise in the room, after about 30 seconds or so you lose the audio on the parent unit totally. The ambient noise, that assured us it was working, dropped. We initially thought that the range sucked and was actually losing the signal but after some experimenting found that the audio comes back on if the baby unit picks up sound. There is however about a 2 second delay before the audio comes back on. We tested this by having my wife sit near the baby unit and stay silent long enough for the parent unit to go silent, and then had her start counting from 1. The audio came on when she got to 3. So basically it just means you wont hear the first 2 seconds of crying. other than that it appears to work, I like the belt clip on the parent unit that flips 180 and turns into a stand, both units are lightweight, and my only other complaint is that the baby unit has to be plugged in to the wall constantly. Only the parent unit is wireless. I wouldnt be 100% confident recommending this because if I had to get another, I would want one that you could be sure was always picking up an audio signal.

Bought this one because it had video and was one of the cheapest I could find. I expected drawbacks, and there are a few such as a small field of vision and short battery life but overall this monitor met my expectations. We still use it today after 14 months and find it very useful.

We have a downstairs master and an upstairs nursery. This monitor is awesome! It shows the temp and you can turn off the video to preserve the battery. Unplugged the abttery doesn't last long, whicn is my only complaint. It also 'turns off' the sound and only turns back on when there is a noise. Great feature!

I bought this for our 2nd child, thinking it was a good Black Friday deal. We returned it the day we opened up the box. The screen resolution is terrible and way too small. It zooms exactly how its shown on the box... meaning you would have to put your baby in the exact same spot every time. What happens when your child gets bigger and starts moving around? We put the camera all the way at the ceiling and it still wouldn't give us a view of the whole crib. Also, when you hang it on the wall, the camera 'neck' is too flexible so it actually kept falling down! We would have had to hold it up some how (duct tape?). Plus it also kept beeping everytime you turned it on... Overall, this is terrible and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone. Not worth the lower price. We ended up returning it and getting the more expensive monitor that we used with our 1st child.

I bought this thinking I was getting a pretty awesome deal but boy was I wrong! The video feed has a delay, poor night vision, and the worst of all, there is no sound feedback unless my son is screaming, which is also delayed. Its voice activated and then turns off after about 5 seconds. There is no option to change it. They fail to mention this on the package which I feel is misleading... Waste of money and time!

My husband and I use this product for night time only, the picture is blurry but you get a basic idea of what the baby is doing. Our major problem is that the sound will go out, the idea is that the audio on the monitor will turn off when no noise is detected but we play music for our baby and the sound will still shut off. We had to set up another audio monitor just to be sure that we hear our baby at night. very annoying! The battery life is pretty bad too and has been since we set up the monitor, it will last maybe 1 hr before we have to plug it in again. We also use a 1.99 iPhone iPad video monitor app that works a million times better but there is no night vision :( Go with summer I wish we had!

I purchased over $2000 worth of more than 50 items at Babies R US. While each and every item worked fine, this piece of youknowhat has succeded in frustrating me ever since I opened the box. Some of the issues I observed are:
-The base unit would not power ON initially.
                            - The 2nd unit was unable to detect the base unit although it was only 5 feet away. When this happens, it gives an annoying beep sound.
                            - The microphone (which some brainiac decided to place behind the camera) stopped detecting voice after 3 days

It is extremely frustrating to pay more than $100 for this useless piece. I hold Babies r us accountable for not vetting this device enough before stocking it in their stores.
The only mistake i made was to throw away the box it came in. If not I would have returned the device immediately.
Since this was a Motorola product, I should have known better. Will never buy a moto product or any monitor at babies r us

I did not like this product at all! The video quality is so-so, but that wasn't an issue to me. I could get an idea of what she was doing. The sound is the problem to me. The monitor turns on when it picks up a sound, but the sound has to be quite loud. I HATE that is shuts off, I wish the sound kept running so you could hear what is happening. We have music that plays on the side of her bassinet and it shuts off and you can't even hear that, it doesn't make the monitor kick on. I returned it to get a monitor where you could hear the baby as well as see. I have gone into the babies room and picked up a little bit while she was sleeping and my husband said the monitor didn't even pick up any sound of me moving around in there.

Comments about Motorola Inc Motorola Digital Video Baby Monitor with 1.5-Inch Color Screen and Wireless Camera - MBP20:

This monitor is absolute garbage. We got it to use in our daughter's nursery and have regretted the purchase ever since. The camera is poor quality and the video on the receiver is pretty washed out. The microphone on the baby unit is on the back of the unit, so in order to get good quality sound, you would have to turn the unit around and face the camera away from your child in order to hear things on that end well. The nightvision video is very poor black and white and does not show up well at all. There is no way to start or stop the lullaby function from the parent unit, which means that you have to be in the baby's room turning the unit on and off, which completely negates the purpose of a lullaby function. The battery on the parent unit only lasts a few hours at best, so you are much better off just leaving it plugged into the wall. I was very disappointed with this unit and purchased a different one instead that works much better.
