I had a Sunshine Kids Radian prior to this carseat that proved its worth when we were hit by TWO different cars simultaneously with my 3 year old daughter in the backseat. The SK worked perfectly and she walked away without a scratch! My poor car wasn't so lucky.

When it came time to replace that carseat I knew I wanted another one! It took me a minute to figure out Sunshine was now Diono, but the two seats are nearly identical (and certainly weigh about the same!) and I TRUST this one to work as well as its predecessor did.

I am in love with this car seat. Not only is it pretty it's one of the safest on the market. Rear facing for so long was the biggest factor for me buying. It was very easy to install and even easier to get my little girl in and out.

I have done my share of searching for the safest car seat for our daughter. We originally had a Britax Marathon, loved it but man was it bulky. This carseat on the other hand, even though very heavy, is low profile and very comfortable for DD. I am very please with this purchase.

First thing is that this is heavy! When ups dropped it off and I tried to take it inside i realized that this is not a seat you want to move around alot. We don't so I wasn't too worried about that. As we got it unwrapped and set up I saw there was an added brace for rear facing position. I used it in the house just to keep this from falling over. I was getting aquainted with the straps and features as I had never seen one in person. We have Br!tax seats and have always used them but had a problem with the front!er as the cover comes undone all the time and rolls up under the kids rear. I was really impressed with how sturdy the latch clips were. I was expecting something like what we had previous but I have to say those folks at Diono have won that honor. The release mechanism is smooth and the operation is somewhat reverse of the other brand, I find that I much prefer it. The belts feel very durable and the cover is soft and supple. The 'baby' (3.5 YO) loved the flower print and was watching tv in it like a little recliner. The head adjustment is strange as you just manually lift it or push it down, no lever like the Br!tax. Not sure how I feel about this yet but it hasnt hindered the use or safety. I love the fact that we have some beefy steel to protect these guys. Like a tiny roll cage for precious cargo. The side wings are large but no more than she was used to but this seat does seem to cradle her better so that when she sleeps her head isnt bobbing and making mom nervous. She looks perfectly supported and downright comfortable. There is a slight recline which I think makes the difference as well. The cupholder is nice in that it can be moved, removed, added to, and run through the dishwasher when needed. Pretty hard to do when they are a built in feature. Also, the bottom hip wings can be adjusted to be verticle, for smaller ones, or more oblique, for larger kids, which makes it versitile and gives our kid something fun to play with as we drive. Pop! Pop! Pop! does it get any better?
Overall, she loves the seat. Its more big kid looking without sacrificing any safety, which we love. It was easy to install securely, fits like a dream, isnt gigantic, and will give her 5 point protection until she reaches the weight limit. We both HIGHLY recommend this seat, especially if you have a very wee one as it will be the only seat you will ever need or want.

I did an immense amount of research before I bought this carseat. It has exceeded my expectations. Not to mention I feel secure in knowing that my daughter is very safe riding in it. I purchased the "spring" print and it is beautiful. Now I'm planning on getting the "storm" for my son. As a parent I would highly recommend this seat. You'll never have to purchase another carseat again.
