I started potty training my son in September and went and bought the Elmo potty because my son is all about Elmo. Well long story short, the drop in part (what you pee into) the lip of it would pinch his butt every time he would sit down. It was not a successful experience at all considering every time he sat on the potty he'd say "it bite my butt." It's now May and it's the first time he will even consider sitting on a potty (a different one obviously).

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Cute potty. Trying to get my daughter potty trained, but she wiggles around like the seat is hurting her little bottom. After sitting for about 5 mins or so, when she gets up her little bottom is red. Hoping there is a soft cusion that I can put over the seat... if not, I don't think potty training is going to be successful using this Elmo potty chair :(

Bought plain potty chairs and my 2 y/o was not taking well to training. I caved and bought Elmo along with the girls potty book and it made a world of difference! She is now excited to try the potty, loves to 'flush it.' We haven't had it long enough for me to comment on long term durability but so far, it's a hit.

I love this potty chair. I was looking for something simple, but also something that made noises when my little guy "flushed", but not when he went. This was perfect, cute, durable, easy to clean and it won't ever smell bad like the soft seated ones. One thing, it does take AA batteries. It comes with them,but I replaced mine right away because I don't think they would last long. Overall A+

I love this product. I was looking for something simple and something that made sounds, but only when baby flushes the toilet not when he goes.
