I bought this pump from another place (online). I used it for 14 months with my son (3x/daily at work, plus, as needed at home), and I liked this product. I thought it was great to have suction and speed adjustments, although it would be nice if it was marked so you didn't have to estimate your most comfortable settings each time. It was a little noisy, but every pump I've used is louder than you'd hope! I found the bottles and accessories easy to clean, and they are not overpriced or hard to find in case you need extras or replacements. I plan to use the pump with my baby-to-be in September, and hopefully it will hold up for another kiddo :)

I bought the ameda because i was told it was a cheaper alternative to the medela. At first it worked great! I was thrilled at how easy it was to use and clean. But two months in I exchanged it.. The suction got worse and worse. I spent $15 on new membranes and diaphrams and it worked great again. But it quickly dropped its quality. It would only suction if I held it a specific way, and even then it didn't "stick" very well and the suction kept breaking, when my baby slept through the night I was still waking up for long periods to fight with the pump. Sometimes the motor wouldn't even run consistently which meant I had to mess with that until it worked. I hated exchanging it because it was a nice little compact pump, but I need something reliable. My supply ended up diminishing and I had to leave formula for my baby while i worked because I wasn't getting enough pumped. The tote bag it came in was very nice as well. I really wished the ameda would have worked out for me, but unfortunately it didn't.

Great pump! I'm able to get much more with this pump than I was able to with a manual pump in half the amount of time. What sold me for this pump over the medela was the hygiene factor. There is a diaphgram that does not allow milk to backflow into the tubing! Clean milk is a must! The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I feel it is a little loud but you can easily distract yourself from the sound by turning on the radio or tv!

I didn't want to spend a fortune on a pump, as I dont use it everyday, but I do expect the pump to have lasted more than 5 months before the motor completely dies on me! Ugh! It looks like I will have to spend a fortune on the better pump instead. Dont bother with this brand! The below reviewers are correct, in saying the motor dies!

I did a lot of research comparing Medela to Ameda. When I had my first daughter I actually used the hospital grade Medela and it sucked. I ended up having to supplement with formula along with breastfeeding. This time around I decided to try the Ameda and I have to say I am very pleased with it. I've noticed that some people have loss suction which I had happen to me. What I realized is that their was still small droplets of water in the flange, once that was removed the suction returned to normal. Another thing is using the speed selection on the pump. You can go ahead and turn the suction up all the way to high, but on the speed you don't want to put it on high like that because your baby doesn't usually feed that way throughout, only in the beginning. Once the milk comes then dial the speed down to half way. I leave my setting on half way all the time because that is how my newborn feeds. Everyone is going to have different experience with pumps, once you get use to your pump then you'll find ways to adjust it to your liking.

I used this product 5x and the motor died, hardly any suction. Very disappointed because my friend was able to use hers for 4 kids!

This pump works just as well as the one I used in the hospital if not better. It's super easy to carry around with you too. The company stands by their product. If it i faulty for one reason or another, they will send you another one.

I really like this pump BUT the motor zonked out and we lost suction after 6 weeks of regular use. I bought it at the beginning of November. Baby was born in mid-November and only used it a few times until I started back to work. I have been at work 6-weeks and am lucky if I get to pump even twice-a-day. I did not expect it to stop working after only 6 weeks of regular usage. I did my product research and am extremely disappointed in what has happened. I purchased the replacement warranty but now have to purchase a new pump, then submit paperwork in order to get reimbursed. I wish I could handle it in-store but I guess that is not an option. I'm still not sure if I want to try another Ameda or switch brands.

I have trouble with pumping and this pump has been wonderful! You can turn the suction and the speed of the sucking to mimic your baby, which in turn for me lets my milk down! I don't have any bad things to say about this pump and will recommend it to all my friends who are looking for a good electric pump!

I have had this pump for 4 1/2 months now and I love it. I have been exclusively pumping so this pump really gets a work out. I recently began having problems with lack of suction. I called Ameda and they are shipping a new pump to me overnight. I could not be happier. Great pump for a decent price and a company that stands behind their product.
