This thing is just awful.. after 5 months the screen goes in and out.. the tv is gigantic and makes a weird buzzing noise ALL the time.. esp when the volume is up! it can't be over two "bars" without being loud.. and then i can't hear him.. it's super bright and lights the entire room.. i wish i'd read the reviews.. this thing stinks! save your money.

At first my only problem with the monitor was that I it has to be plugged in to work so if I wanted to walk from room to room while cleaning I couldn't carry it. It's also too bulky for that. After a few weeks the monitor started to take a few minutes before the picture would show. Now, it won't show the picture at all. All I have is sound. I could have saved a bunch of money and went with a regular monitor if that was what I wanted. Not satisfied AT ALL with this product.

Overall very good product. I like the fact that it works in a completely dark room.
Would like it even more if you get more contrast in the picture, i.e. if you could make it darker and brighter to get more sharpness.

When I first bought this product, I liked it. As the other reviewers said the product is bulky so if you are the type to take the monitor with you outside in the nice weather this product is definitely not for you. For my own purposes I only need it for the bedroom and if I am in the living room I will take it with me, but it must be plugged in (will not take batteries). I only bought the video monitor because the price was good and my 6 month old son is a blankie boy and tends to put the blanket over his head. The video monitor prevents me having to jump up every 15 minutes to check on him. The monitor worked fine for the first 3 weeks. After that the monitor began to jump and wouldn't allow me to see anything. Since it was less than 30 days I brought it back to Babies R Us and they allowed me to exchange it for a new one. Nevertheless, got the new monitor home, plugged it in, and that monitor was not working correctly either. This time half the screen was black. This time I will be returning the product to get my money back.

I put this monitor on my registry because it was inexpensive and I figured as long as I could hear and see the baby that's all that mattered. What a mistake! The quality of the image and sound is horrible. The TV should have an antenna to get better reception but it doesn't. Our joke at home is that our baby's sonogram is a better image. Also, there is so much static that I end up turning off the sound so I can hear the baby across my room in the nursery. Defeats the purpose! Portability is a big issue. While I am pumping milk I can't see the monitor and have to constantly stop to check the baby. I couldn't return it because I threw away the box. I am going to invest in a more modern model. My baby is 2 months old and the monitor is not where you want to save money. Use a twenty percent off coupon so you can splurge on something that actually works and is more practical.

We are familiar with video monitors. This one is terribly designed. The huge television monitor with the screen is not user-friendly. It's too big to transport from room to room like the phone-sized ones. AND, the volume comes out the bottom of the receiver. That's not smart at all!

I bought this product to help me monitor my mother (she had dementia) while she slept in her room at night and also moved it to the living room during the day. This product gave good visual and audio and helped in so many ways especially peace of mind. I would highly recommend it for indoor use.

Bought this when my 4 year old summer infant video monitor died. I truly just didnt pay enough attention when I bought it. 1st its Huge, just like other reviewer said the back is several inches long and like your grandmas tv 2nd Its Huge so you arent strapping this on your belt or carrying it anywhere with you 3rd it cant run on battery and must be plugged in making portability a big zero. Even if you just want this to sit on your night stand its too big. I really cant imagine why in 2012 they even bothered making this thing...way outdated. Many better choices our there. I promptly returned this item within the week

The monitor is way too big just like the old style TV's. Very long in the back.
