The 1st Angry Birds Game-Knock on Wood-the pieces are flat on all sides, in this game they made one edge on the silver pieces slightly smaller than the other side so the pieces rock a little...it makes the game a little harder to build, but it is also easier to knock down....My son still loves it...

The game looked fun and my 4 year old daughter loves playing Angry Birds on her Nabi so I thought, why not?

As most people have mentioned, setting up the actual structures is extremely difficult and frustrating. However, a lot of people assume you can only lay the blocks down hollow edge to hollow edge... but if you read the instructions it clearly states you can lay them flat if you need to. But even with that knowledge, it's still insanely difficult to set up the more advanced structures.

Some structures seemed like they would be physically impossible to even create. I remember one structure where two blocks had to actually rest on TOP of a bird... which was ludicrous and even the slightest breath would knock the entire structure down.

Overall we gave up after only 10 minutes of playing. My daughter probably enjoys just playing with the figurines and the blocks more than actually trying to play the game. Even if you can successfully set up the structures, no toddler or young child has the patience to wait that long.

Those commenting about the lack of ability to build the structures are right on! My kids, ages 4, 6, and 8 could not build many of the designs, and I, at 35, thought I should be able to get them up, but no. The way the blocks are designed makes it nearly impossible to stack them.

The blocks are some kind of I-Beam variation, so the longer sides of the blocks are open. Mattel probably tried to save money by using less plastic, but by doing this they have made it very hard to stack anything on the long side of the blocks, which, if you follow the designs on the cards are how many of them should be built. We had a LOT of frustration with this game and are highly disappointed in it.

Mattel needs to take it back to the drawing board and redesign the blocks. Then, yes, it would be lots of fun!

My 4 and 7 year olds love this game. We have not played it as a true "game" but they love building and knocking down. We just use the cards for ideas. I got two sets so they can both have their own slingshot. Then, on Christmas day, they got the Jenga Star Wars and knock on wood games. It's been 5 days and they're still going strong! We use a board from our Clue game to build on so it's steadier.

This game is a fun idea. However, building the blocks is almost impossible. None of them stay up and continue to fall down. It is very frustrating for me let alone a 5 yr old. I suppose it would be fun if you build your own. Following the cards is nearly impossible.

Absolutely my 4 yr old son's favorite. We have several of these play sets and they are great for improving a child's fine motor skills, creativity and logic. This is a great toy for a parent to interact with their child - it promotes sharing and participation. The biggest benefit though is that it builds confidence as your child learns to build more complicated structures. The cards are very well designed with easy to follow visuals: your child basically builds the many constructions and then uses the catapult - launching angry birds to knock it down.

It's interesting how there are several parents commenting that their kids can't follow the cards or they have trouble building. Perhaps they should spend some time

We purchased the original Angry Birds block game over a year ago, and my 4-5 year old son loved it. The cards aren't the most simple to follow, but we love building our own ideas. Yes, the catapult/slingshot can be tricky to get used to using, but we all have a great time trying.

This game is almost impossible to play. The challenge is supposed to be shooting down birds after your opponent builds the structure, but building even the simplest structures is an exercise in frustration. The pieces don't sit securely on top of each other, so it takes forever even for adults to build the structure, as it keeps falling down in progress. More like Jenga than Angry Birds, and far less fun.

Very hard to set up, they continue to fall before you are ready, poorly made pieces
