The Great Devourer has been awakened and threatens to devour the world of Ninjago. Can the legendary green ninja, riding the awesome 4-headed Ultra Dragon, overpower this evil adversary? Can Lord Garmadon harness the power of the 4 golden weapons of Spinjitzu to destroy the mighty snake and what about Sensei Wu? Can Jay defeat the evil snake Generals Acidicus, Skalidor and snake soldier Chokun to release his master from the impenetrable snake prison? Only you can decide the outcome of the final battle between good and evil!

I was so surprised to see that Toys R Us had an early release of the summer Ninjago sets! My son saw this one and wanted it immediately. They were out online and I went to my local store and they were out. He was sooo bummed! A few days later, I happened to check and the local store got more! Yes, it is $20 more than retail price, but I had a $10 coupon, so it was worth it to us.

We built the set and it is very impressive! The dragon is incredible and my boys love that they included the great devourer! But, the prize of this set is the green ninja!! Lego is sneaky to release this MUCH wanted minifig in a large set first. But, again, at least it is a very impressive set, and we are completely satisfied!

This product not only has a lot of pieces, but some of them are hard to find like Lloyd and Sensei Wu. If you get it for a good price (I got it online as a Black Friday deal), it gives you a whole lot for the money. The look of the Epic Dragon and the Great Devourer are awesome and my 7 year old sons (and their older sisters who aren't even into Legos) were wowed by the finished product which takes awhile to assemble. Now, the downside: it is very fragile, especially the dragon so it makes playing with it frustrating. My boys aren't rough at all. If you don't pick it up just so, it will break apart and constantly needs to be put back together. While they did enjoy the toy and were thrilled to get it for Christmas, the novelty of it is wearing thin with its needing to be fixed all the time. They now play much more with all their other Lego sets which are far more durable. I couldn't wholeheartedly recommend this to a friend because of its not staying together well considering the cost of it.

This item was bought for an 8 yr old girl, who is very creative. This was 1 of only 3 things she asked for for Christmas. She was thrilled to get it and mastered putting it together by herself. Her only disappointment was when she tried to use the product it kept coming apart. Big disappointment for her and me. For the high cost of this item I was hoping it would with stand the test of an 8 year old playing with it. I am a little skeptical of buying more of these items for her. We just went to TRU yesterday and i wouldn't buy her the CHIMA eagle she wanted.
