    Got this for my nearly-5-year-old. For the price, it's a very well made bike. We went to TRU to look at a Schwinn in this size. The Schwinn was a fine, well-constructed bike; but it was also quite heavy. The aluminum frame on the Avigo shaves off quite a few pounds, making it easier to carry and easier for the novice rider to get moving forward.

    Aluminum frame bikes this size from specialty bicycle makers cost at least twice what this one does. No doubt they have some perks this bike is missing; but the Avigo is well made and a great value—especially if you can snag it on sale or with a coupon.

    Some other reviewers have noted that the bike has no rear handbrake. That's true. It wasn't a surprise to me since I purchased the bike in person (and the floor model was an accurate representation). A rear handbrake would be a nice improvement to this bike; but even without it, the bike has a lot going for it.

    One thing I especially like is the kickstand bracket on the frame. You don't get a kickstand in the box—you'll have to buy it separately—but other similar bikes I looked at didn't even have the bracket on the frame. Once the training wheels come off, you'll probably want some way to keep the bike from falling over.

    In Canada this bike is called the Ignite but it is identical. We looked at a lot of bikes for our 4 year old (who has been riding without training wheels for a year already). This bike was by far the best built with the most features in this size and price range. As a matter of fact, his older brother has a Premium Sweet 16 ($400).... Although the Premium certainly has better components... for 1/4 the price, this Avigo is a pretty smokin little bike! Highly recommend!

    No rear hand brake as in picture

    The online picture AND description says dual caliper hand brakes, shows picture of front and rear brake, as well as pedal coaster brakes. The model in the store did not have a back brake and the picture on the box of the one I was going to buy did not have a rear brake either. Went with another brand that had a rear handbrake.

    Aluminum frame makes it more light weight and could handle weather. Front brake and foot brake works well. Can't wait to surprise my 5yo.

    ONE FLAW FROM WHAT I SEE FROM THEIR ADVERTISED PRODUCT. THE PICTURE SHOWS A REAR BRAKE SYSTEM. THE REAR BRAKE IS NOT INCLUDED NOR IS AN OPTION. TOYS R US NEED TO REVISE THE PICTURE SINCE IT'S FALSE ADVERTISEMENT AND VERY MISLEADING.
