My parents gave this as a christmas gift to my 3 yr old nephew, and he kept wanting to build it. So one Saturday we sat down at the table and began to build the big motorized crane project. I let him put the nuts on the bolts, since he is still learning his motor skills.

One Major problem was the given Instructions. A single sheet with drawings of the finished projects, and a few vague close ups on the big project. I had to study the picture for long periods to determine material placements. It wasn't too difficult for me, but I don't think children would be able to complete without adult help.

Overall, I believe the product was great. After completion, my nephew had fun raising and lowering the weighted hook over and over with the motorized buttons.

**I made two slight modifications to the original design.
* The First change is the cord, I used a brown cotton cord from a hobby store, instead of the thin white thread provided.
* The Second change is the tip of the crane arm. They had it end with just a bolt and nut which caused the gray pieces to bend drastically. I instead added an orange pulley disc bolted between the gray arms.

This is a great idea for a toy, but it comes with no instructions. So you can't build any of the things it suggests. It only gives you pictures of the finished products, not step by step instructions. In fact, one of the suggestions doesn't even fit the way they show it. Luckily my son loves to make his own stuff even when there are good instructions so I think he'll play with it.

NO INSTRUCTIONS for a 200 piece toy rated for 5 and up!! How on earth do the manufacturers think this can be properly assembled with no instructions? And I can't even find any online. Flimsy pieces and poor design made for some rather frustrated men in my house. My 7 year old son, who can build a 600 piece Lego town with only a picture has assembled this crane numerous ways and cannot get it to function. My husband, who is a skilled carpenter and can build just about anything you can ever imagine, has been scratching his head and cursing at this thing for hours. It's going back in the box and back to toys r us TODAY! Total waste of money!!

      No instructions. I wish we would have just returned this toy. It was a gift for Christmas. Now it will just litter my house unil he gets done being frustrated by it & I can throw it away when he is not around. Im so annoyed by this toy. Its a joke!

          My son recieved this as a gift. He LOVES to build things. But as soon as we started to try to build one of the things like the crane all the screws would come loose. The directions are terrible and the pictures are vague. My son really loves making things with mechanical moving type parts, so he was excited. Then we find out once we reached the part that made the string go up or down, it did not work no matter what we did. He was so upset he cried(granted he's four) But still, this toy was flimsy and cheap. I wish we could get our money back.

                  There are no instructions included, just a drawing. The kicker is the drawing does not match the picture on the box, so you have to guess on how to put it together. Very frustrating and time consuming, not a good toy to build with your children.

                  It's a really fun toy once you figure out how it should go together. There are no instructions and the picture of the crane shows the motor in the wrong spot. If you build as the picture shows it will fall over backwards. But as I said it's a fun toy once you figure it out.
