Tonka is getting back to its roots with the Classic Steel Mighty Dump Truck! Built to last and withstand even the toughest Tonka kids, this Classic Mighty Dump Truck, complete with a moveable bed, is ready to take charge in any construction zone and guaranteed for life!

Did you know that "Tonka" means "great" in Sioux? It's no surprise considering just how long this great, reliable brand of toy trucks has been around! In 1947, the first Tonka brand toy trucks were actually designed and manufactured by the Mound Metalcraft Company, a small garden toll manufacturer operating from a small schoolhouse basement in Minnesota. In their first year of operation, a staff of only a half dozen people produced a total of 37,000 metal trucks with two designs. This inventory sold out in just a few months as many post-World War II families quickly accepted this new toy. As a result, in 1949, the first Tonka dump truck was introduced launching the first generation of the Tonka brand's family tree. Today, the Tonka brand upholds the same premise it was found on: a toy should be durable and provide the child with as much play value possible.

This is our 3rd Tonka dumptruck to own. We have 3 boys and this has been their favorite toy. They push them, carry loads (mulch & dirt), ride in them, etc. They are built strong and have lasted through lots of play time so far. Our 5 year old still plays with it all the time. We highly recommend this toy for any truck loving little boy!

This is the sort of toy that has extreme play value. My child's face broke into a huge grin of happiness and the fun has not stopped since. This truck is huge. Little ones can sit in it. He fills it with smaller trucks, toys and other stuff and takes it all over. We have not even gotten outside with it yet for sandbox fun. His grandparents also got the giant John Deere dumptruck and my son calls them husband and wife! Two are not too much. There is not a negative thing to say about this truck.
