My little girl is in love with her new LeapPad2.She was able to quickly understand and how to use the Leap Pad 2.

Leap Pad 2 new features are: a higher resolution front and back camera, more memory space, faster processor, improved battery life, two new in-built in games, and rechargeable battery pack option.

Those upgrades make a difference. I wasn't sure what the old Leap Pad so I checked out the first Leap Pad at the store. To give me the feel of how the old Leap Pad functioned. The new The LeapPad2 feels much better, faster response, when turning it on or changing between pages to browse through the apps.

The two new apps: Cartoon Director and Art Studio are an awesome addition to the other regular apps from the first Leap Pad. Cartoon Director allows you to snap photo of a friend or family member and then put their head directly into a story before recording their own voice.

What I Love about LeapPad2: It's durability. The quality of the leaPad2 is strong and has passes the clumsiness of my little one. She has dropped the LeapPad twice now and seem it will last a long time. Another feature would be the rechargeable battery option.

Overall, the quality & price is reasonable. The Leap Pad 2 is perfect for the little ones to learn and entertainment.

This is our third Leap Pad (first Leap Pad2). If we hadn't put so much money into games, adaptor, ear phones, I never would have replaced the first one. My daughter dropped the first in our kitchen and the screen shattered. I couldn't believe it was not more durable. We only had it two weeks but Toys R Us made us use our warranty. We purchased a 2nd and had to purchase the warranty again. The battery compartment stopped working on the 2nd one after a few months. I tried several different brands of new batteries and it would not work. It worked fine with the AC adaptor but our daughter didn't want to be stuck to the wall. So we used our warranty again and purchased the new Leap Pad 2. We have spent so much money on warranties but this is the last one I will purchase. I really wish we had spent extra money up front and purchased an iPad. We've already spent that much money on this toy. Games are too expensive whereas apps are free. My daughter loves the Leap Pad and that's why we have repurchased but she also loves mine and my husbands iPads. This toy just isn't worth the money.

The battery life is so not good. I put bran new batteries in at 10 am by 4pm the batteries where dead. I can't possible change the batteries everyday. Very disappointed.

We purchased one of these as a Christmas present. Within a month, the screen had cracked. We didn't see it happen. I e-mailed Leap Frog and they wouldn't consider replacement of the product because they stated it was due to misuse. Our daughter kept asking for another so as a birthday present (Born May 4th) we purchased another and gave it to her Sunday (May 5th). This morning her dad was sitting beside her watching her play one of the apps adn the screen cracked again. This time we purchased the insurance on the product; however, we are seriously considering whether or not we should get a replacement.

        I bought my 3year old this. He loves it! Most children probably will drop the unit or accident as my son did here and there. The screen never cracked but the screen stopped working meaning you had to press the screen multiple times just for it to recognize the command or it just didn't press at all. It became annoying especially since it had only been 2 months of home having it. Thankfully I did buy the protection plan. I sent it in and I just got the gift card in the mail....not sure if I'm going to buy another one or not but the process was fairly smooth and my son was without his leap pad for a week

          I purchased this item for my grandson for Christmas and needless to say its sitting on the shelf collecting dust. It is a great item as far as education is concerned however it is the actual costs of use that gives it a negative impact. I purchased the product then realized later that I need to also purchase headphones and the adapter. Even the best batteries run down extremely fast and only last a max of 2 days in this item. After purchasing the adapter I realized that you still need batteries in order to hook it up to the computer to download and etc. Now we must invest in the rechargeable battery pack. I also found it necessary to get the gel skin and a case. Between buying the games at at least $10 to $20 each and all the extras, I would have rather just purchased a tablet.
