First off yes this is a small bed, it is a TODDLER bed. It holds up to 50 pounds. It uses a crib mattress, which is what makes it convenient. The reason I personally like this is because I was always nervous that a wooden toddler bed would get beat up or break or splinter. This bed just uses plastic and metal. These have taken a beating from the kids and are still standing. They are easy to put together, durable, and they will probably last until the kids are about 5 or 6.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
