The puppy reader is perfect for little hands. It turns on easily but not so easily that it gets turned off and on by accident. I love that we had the option for Violet (the purple puppy) to "learn" our daughters name. It is such a nice personal touch for our little one to be greeted each time she uses the product. There are a wide range of books to choose from; all with great learning messages. Many have songs and music that go along with the text. My little one just LOVES this product.

The only downside is that the reader only holds 8 mb of memory so you can only load a few books at a time.

Using them for my 1 year old boy!. so far he can only focus for about 1-3 minutes untill he wants to start to just throw them around and chew them.
The letter in the front should be free from drawings that distract from the letter itself. May be something like white background with a bold black letter, or may be the letter could be different colors as long as there is a strong contrast with the background. Leave the cute part of the cards to the other side when its flipped, right know I think the other side of the cards is perfect.

I think the Leap Reader Junior is a great product for toddlers. It's a great learner tool, and I think the only thing that would make it better is if you could have more than 5 books downloaded on it at a time.
