My almost 2 year old and 3.5 year old love this vacuum. Yes the sounds and lights do stop when it is in TRY ME mode....if you change it to PLAY mode on the bottom, it works when the child pushes it across the room. Very happy with this product!!!

Bought this for my 3 year old daughter for Christmas. Was very disappointed to find out the balls and lights went off when pushing the vacuum...that is until I read a review on another web site that gave this VERY helpful tip: There is a demo switch on the bottom of the vacuum. Switch it to "ON" and it will work as you expect it to!
