I bought this as a gift for my 10 yr old and nothing ever hatched! We stuck it out for 3-4 wks and nothing, what a waste of money. He was very disappointed as was I.

This kit takes a while to see results, but be patient. We waited about a week or so and you could barely see the little guys but they were there. At first they were just a tiny spec and then they grew and grew. We had about three or four that were pretty good size, then went to two, then one day the other one was gone. ?? don't know what happened, we didn't see him dead or anything.. it was just gone! I know they said that they eat each other, but I don't know how to explain the big one being gone. All in all, it was super cool though! We are planning on buying another kit to try again! I will say that we kept the aquarium under a lamp for most of the day to keep it as warm as possible.. that may have helped them grow.

I bought this kit for the office and after reading the other reviews, I wasn't really expecting them to hatch. BUT THEY HATCHED!! AND NOW THEY'RE EATING EACH OTHER!!

Packaging looks a little lame though. So if you have your own aquarium at home, just ditch the kit and put the little guys in a real bowl.

You have to use distilled water or boil water for 25 minutes then let it get to room tempeture before adding half the bag of eggs.I put the water in a sterlized more stable container and sat in front of window with no breeze, only sunshine.I also sit container on heating pad on low so water can get warm for them.they grow fast and begin at the size of the tip of a pen n are white .so u may not see them for a couple of days.try a magnifying glass.but they r really cool to watch.

My daughter was so excited about these (she loved her sea monkeys, and these would be even bigger). We added half the eggs, as directed, and waited. Nothing. A week later I added the other half. Nothing. It's been over 2 weeks, I have an empty tank and a teary daughter.

So I bought this kit for my 6 year old thinking it would grow those little sea monkey things and was I wrong. At first, a bit disapointing - just little white specs floating around in the tank that looked like dirt. We stuck with it and a few days later, you could see that they were starting to look like the things on the package. They kept growing and growing and there were fewer and fewer of them - THEY EAT EACHOTHER!!! After 3 weeks, we had one GIANT (like the size of a quarter) sea monster. My son loves it. My wife will not go near it. I can't believe what this kit let's you grow. Amazing!!!
