This is a difficult puzzle. Not sure how the previous reviewer's 5 year old did it. Ours did not come with instructions. I looked up other reviews on other websites and it seems that it is supposed to come with instructions with a numbered assembly pattern and each piece is numbered in case you get stuck. We were able to get it together without this but WOW was it a challenge. It is barely holding together. Not something you want to handle once put together as it is fragile.

My 3D Blue Swan Puzzle was fun and easy to build for my 4 and 5 year old children with my supervision of course. The blue color is popping.
It is now a decoration on my desk at work!
