It was indeed difficult to assemble... Easy instructions and concept, but the plastic was not predrilled enough. My guess is that the screws self-thread, so I had to use a smaller drill bit to start the holes better. An electric screw driver is helpful! End-cap design is for the birds! Stupid. Takes a lot of patience, skill and balance to hit it on! Even with the plastic tool (which only helps to get it initially hammered on. Then you still need to hammer the cap part well to lock it in. Probably less frustrating if my cordless drill hadn't have died.

Well... once assembled properly, I believe it will hold up to the abuse of a child. Unfortunately for my daughter, being 80% in height as a 3-year old, the bike is too large for her to reach the pedals! Holy Smokes! She's a tall girl! We got a big big-wheel bike because her knees knock into the smaller ones. And SHE cannot reach? How can it be for ages 3+?

After all that work and excitement, she has to walk it about. At least it's pink and purple with matching stickers. I personally like the lack of electronics and other distractions. It's a big-wheel bike for riding, not button pushing game, in my opinion. So for that reason, I am happy with it. Will be happier when she can reach the pedals. Don't know what I want to do about it yet.

If I do return/exchange it for a smaller version, I think Toys R Us should assemble it for me in the store to thank me for already assembling the one I return. They told me that aside from Christmas, they don't keep an assembled one on the floor for us to try (for size). We just have to have faith in the label. :-/

I would recommend this with cautions: use a drill, be at least the size of a 4 year old.

This tricycle took me an hour and a half to assemble. It was definitely not easy, though I think it probably would have taken my husband a little less time. It took a lot of muscle to get the screws tightened because the plastic did not have holes. Not confident in the quality of the product due to the poor construction, but my 4 year old daughter loves the bike. Overall,I would probably buy it again (especially since I got it on Black Friday for 1/2 off) but would definitely have someone else assemble it. Not sure I would buy it for full price though.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. Here I was on Christmas morning struggling to put it together. My husband even had a hard time. The screws did not match, so we had to use our own. The things that are suppose to keep the peddles on do not fit. The plastic holes were not all punched out so we had to do that ourselves. My daughter caught us putting this together and got super excited. I am so upset bc she can not even ride it. Not only was this her big Christmas gift but it was also her birthday and I had to explain to a 3 year old that the toy right in front of her she couldnt use. I am going to try and return it for something better. If it was up to me I would not have any stars!

This is the worst item I've ever had to build in my life. This was purchased as a Christmas gift to a little girl who loves pink and purple. If it wasn't for the colors, I wouldn't have given it any stars at all. Christmas night this bike took two hours to build. Whoever designed this should be fired. The pieces were not all the way drilled out so we had to break plastic loose ourselves. Additionally the screws were too long and we had to dig through the shed to find shorter screws of our own. Our child loves the color and plays on it, but as a parent building this Christmas Eve I was disgusted with the poor construction.

easy to assemble and tons of fun
