My kids (2 & 4 yr old girls) love this train set and can play with it for long periods of time. It's great fun for them. It occasionally "falls apart" where the track runs downgrade to the ground, but is easily put back together. Can also just put a double-sided piece of tape or velcro on the pieces where they fit together at the columns to help keep it together. Would HIGHLY recommend.

My four year old son asked for this one specifically and we are very happy with it. The quality is good and the price is fair. I think it is best for the 3+ year old age group as suggested- a 2 year old would find it overwhelming. It is well designed and flexible- although you can make it into the suggested spiral, the pieces are standard enough to make other setups also. The general quality is what I have seen with other non-Thomas wooden sets. There are a few flaws. The train does not go down the spiral by itself; you need to push it. Also, with all the curves, the train does tend to derail frequently. I suspect a Thomas brand set might be slightly higher quality in these areas, but they are also twice as expensive and we would not spend that much anyway. Our son is quite happy with it. Overall a good purchase!

Got a great online deal so purchased for 4 old's birthday gift. Setup was difficult, but my husband managed to make the spiral work. Kids had hours of fun playing before they decided to take it down. When they wanted to set it up again, husband wasn't available, so they set it up without the spiral and had no issues. Still a favorite toy after receiving much more for Christmas!

This train set has quality wood pieces that were so easy to put together. I prefer the wood pieces over my son's plastic Thomas set. Its a pretty sturdy set, especially without glue or screws holding it together. However the trains do not roll down the spirals or even the track after a big push. It's like the trains don't match up with the tracks. That is what I like about our Thomas Quarry train set better. The Thomas set has the trains zooming at full speed. I still am giving this 4 stars because of the quality, assembly ease, price, and my son loving it. You'll get more bang for your buck with the Imaginarium set plus additional trains are cheaper than Thomas (you can get three train carts for the price of one Thomas train cart).

This train set is ALMOST perfect. There are a couple little spots that could be tweaked, and the spiral is a pain to set up when your kid wants to play with his new train NOW, but overall, it is awesome. The ramps for coming down the spiral knock over easily, and that is really the only bad thing I have about this train set. Without that, I'd rate it a 5 easy. My son (who just turned 3) played with this set all day (literally) and goes right to it first thing when he gets up! We just LOVE it and will definitely be getting more Imaginarium sets for him!

The timber log house is defected went I took it out of the box. One of the spiral is missing a grey piece. Everything else is good. If it wasn't for the defected pieces; I would rate it 5 stars....
