As first time parents needing all the essentials (on a budget), we chose the Day2Night Sleep system as a cost saver- we were getting a play pen, changing table, and two bassinets for a single cost that we felt was very reasonable. We could not be happier with our decision.
The system was not difficult to set up - unlike so many other purchases we made for the baby, these instructions made perfect sense, and everything we needed was in the box at the time of purchase.
As for utility, I do not believe we could have made a better choice - we have the play pen installed in our family room and currently outfitted with the bassinet and changing table. As we live in a two floor home, this makes outfit and diaper changes infinitely more convenient and easier on our backs - we don't have to go upstairs with the baby every time she needs a change, the changer sits at just the right height to keep you from straining your back, and allows you to keep any diaper changing messes out of the sleeping area. The storage compartments are another awesome bonus- they hold all the diaper changing supplies, clothes, toys, books, burp cloths, and other minutia you could possibly want on hand for your baby. The system is also extremely sturdy - we have no fear of it remaining in a high-traffic area, or being able to withstand all the wiggling, kicking, and commotion of an energetic baby.
We used the free standing bassinet in our bedroom for the first three months to keep the baby within earshot at night and to make all those nighttime feedings easier. It is a great size, not requiring too much of your floorspace, and super easy to pack up and move to another room, or to take visiting, which is endlessly helpful when you are concerned about getting baby to bed when you find yourself at a friend's, relative's, or baby sitter's for the evening. The bassinet mattress is perfect for a newborn - it is thin and firm enough to eliminate any safety concern you might have, without being so stiff as to be uncomfortable for baby.
Having used the Day2Night for nearly four months now, the only suggestions we would think to make concerning product improvement are the following:
The bassinet liner, though very easy to remove and clean, is not apparently sold on its own - this means if there is a mess to clean up, you must do it immediately, or be left without until you do. I'm assuming that like ourselves, not all parents always have the time to drop everything and clean a bassinet liner. The Day2Night system should come with at least one extra bassinet liner. On that note, we feel that it should also come with a sheet or two for the play pen, though you can buy these separately. (You will need them, and wash them often- we are talking babies here.)
The changer that attaches to the play pen locks in its open position, and has a button you must press while simultaneously flipping the changer over to move it into its position of functionality. No big deal, unless you've got a squirming, shrieking infant in your arms - then it becomes a little tricky to flip it over. Graco could save everybody a lot of silly gymnastics if they redesigned this mechanism to make it a little easier to maneuver with baby in hand.
Neither of the above suggestions would give us the slightest hesitance to recommend the Day2Night system to a friend or loved one, or to purchase one for ourselves again. We are considering gifting one to Grandma and Grandpa to make visits with baby easier for them.

Not a purchase I'd make again

I thought this system was the answer to my multi-floor living arrangement. I could keep the Pack N Play on one floor and use the bassinet/stand on another floor. For the first month or so, it worked just as I'd imagined.

Now that my son is 2 months old, he's still within the weight limit for the portable bassinet. However, he is almost as long as the bassinet and tends to kick the side warning label, resulting in a loud "crunchy" sound that often awakens him. He can't stretch out properly because he's already too long at 23.5". (He was a very average 20" at birth and we're not a tall family!)

Of course, I knew the bassinet wasn't designed to be a long term solution. What I didn't realize is that the Pack N Play doesn't have multiple mattress levels, like other models. So, until he is old enough to stand on his own and be lifted out of the bottom mattress, this simply serves as a very large changing station.

Unfortunately, the changing station is also less effective than I'd imagined. The changing pad is slightly tilted and tilts further when the weight of a baby is added to it. This means that the baby rolls to the side a bit, but more importantly- so does the soiled diaper. It can be hard to find a place to set it where it won't roll onto baby or the baby won't get into it during the remainder of his changing. The height of the station causes a bit of a backache. (Remember, we're not a tall family! I'm 5'4".) And, the storage is directly under the changing pad, so it's difficult to use it to its fullest potential. (We do store extra changing pad covers, my nursing cover, a few diapers and additional wipes there.)

The other problem I have with this system is the ease of cleaning the sleep surfaces. The pad below the portable bassinet station on the Pack N Play must be completely removed in order to change the sheet. In addition to the typical diaper blow outs and spit-ups, I've had to change this sheet when my son pees unexpectedly while on the changing pad. It's not easy to remove that pad. On its own, the portable bassinet does not have a sheet and thus can be difficult to clean in the middle of the night after an "accident."

This system worked well for about 6 weeks, but the cost is too high for that brief time. In another month or so, my son will outgrow the changing pad as well. Then,I'll have to store this thing until he can use the playpen feature, which will probably be another 6 months or so. As such, I wouldn't make this purchase again.

I love the fact that this playard comes with a bassinet stand. You don't have to set up the play yard until you need it but we set it all up. The only reason I gave this product a 4 instead of 5 is because of the instructions for set up. They weren't very clear.

Comments about Graco Day2Night Sleep System - Antiquity:

We really got this because I wanted the bassinet. However, my son decided he didn't like the bassinet:( the pack n play is great though. I loved the storage part for when he was a newborn and the changing table was so useful. You do lose storage when you drop the base, but it is still a great pack n play.

As a first time mom, I was between this and a traditional bassinet. I went with this pack n play due to its flexible with traveling knowing that I would be between NY and MI for school and visiting family. This was great! I was able to use the bassinet the entire first 6 months and I had a baby in the 99th and 95th for height and weight, respectively. I use the pack n play for naps and sometimes as a crib since it can be easily moved between my room and her room. This was a great idea and I'm glad this was available for my first born.

The bassinet is what my daughter slept in next to me for the first three months, just transitioning to a crib this past week. Because it also comes with a pack-n-play which is helpful for when they get older, it was a good investment instead of just buying a stand alone bassinet.
Only drawback is that it does not have wheels on the bottom.

Comments about Graco Day2Night Sleep System - Antiquity:

Assembly took some time. & the pack & play is a little bulky than I would have liked but I picked this one mainly because it included the bassinet which so far we have liked. I am a little concerned that the fabric on the bassinet is not as snug as I would like it to be on the sides. this may improve after washing/drying. The bassinet removes from the stand which made it nice for the first few nights, I placed in bed between me & DH until I was comfortable moving him to the side of the bed. We use the changing table on a regular basis & hope to get a lot of use out of the pack n play in the future!

I feel like I should mention the 1st one we got was ripped on the side. But we were able to take back to BRU and they replaced the frame . It was just a pain to have gotten the entire system put together to then notice the tear.

I love this system. The girls at the registry desk encouraged us to register for it and I'm so glad they did. The bassinet is such a great feature! If our baby falls asleep upstairs and I need to go downstairs, the great handle allows to to carry it up and down the stairs and put it anywhere! We also travel with it easily! When going out of town, it's great to have a familiar place to put the baby to sleep. We have 2 floors in our house and it's been great to be able to change the baby downstairs instead of going up and down all the time. I really love the storage underneath the changing pad. I'd highly recommend it!

The portable bassinet was perfect for the bedroom and allowed everything at our reach. The colors are neutral and blended well. Great quality! Only con is the diaper changer does tilt/lean some but overall I would def recommend this product!

Comments about Graco Day2Night Sleep System - Antiquity:

We purchased the Graco Day2Night Sleep System over other available pack and plays because it had an included Bassinet. We were happy with the purchase until we went to find sheets for the Bassinet and found that you are required to use the included liner and thin pad. The Graco Bassinet is not a standard size, its smaller so you're stuck and dont have any other options. If you wanted to legitimately use it every night, you would have to wash it often because you only have 1 liner and you cant buy more because its not a standard size. So last night we got to go to Babies R Us and spend another $109 on a Bassinet that is truely functional. If I hadnt already thrown the box away for the Graco system, it would have been returned because I felt completely scammed and up charged for a useless feature that made us go spend more money. Rant over, Im not happy and highly suggest that you dont purchase this "Day2Night" joke.

Comments about Graco Day2Night Sleep System - Antiquity:

Was great with newborn. Used as a satellite changing station in another room. Unfortunately baby would not sleep in bassinet, so it basically became our baby suitcase and changer when traveling. The Pack n Play is quite large even when folded. If tight on space I would not recommend as you have to store the folded Pack n Play, the bassinet and the changer piece (which don't pack away). If you have the space and a large vehicle, it's a nice system.
