So glad we bought this. I've wanted it for a long time, and it didn't disappoint. The only unexpected thing was the setup. A flat box arrived. Inside, there was a lightweight silver ring with paper (heavy stock) butterflies connected to it with fishing line. The butterflies on each hanging "strand" were gently collapsed and twist tied together. For me, the best way to unpack it was to hang it from an existing ceiling hook and work on 1 strand at a time. It was a tiny bit tedious, but worth the effort. It looks beautiful in our 5 year old daughter's room (a pink/green/pastel "woodland" theme), and we'll also be using it as decoration for her "butterfly" 6th birthday party in our sunroom. As an added bonus, it helps conceal an old ceiling fan (I rigged it to hang down below the ceiling fan light. note: when used this way, it hangs down fairly low - most adult heads would graze it if walking under, so we centered her bed under it to keep it out of the walking path). My daughter says the butterflies make faint whisper noises in the night (as the ac goes on/off), but she loves it.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Bought on a whim and was so much more than expected! I share a room with my little girl and it looks nice enough to be decor I could use...pics on web and box are NOTHING compared to actual item! I was skeptical of it being paper, but its made sturdy...yet the paper is light so anything that moves even air will make butterflies move! Its great and our little preemie LOVES IT! We get tons of compliments on it and we even did some detailing to ours....butterflies were a little dense in middle so we removed and moved some THEN we took the turning mechanism off a mobile and put it on this so now ours even turns and plays music when usually the butterflies just move with the breeze. I HIGHLY suggest this item not just for babies but kids any age or adults that like whimsical decor.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
