When shopping for new baby I knew I had to get a bottle to reduce colic. My fist born had acid reflux and it was a nightmare trying to find a bottle that he would drink from that wouldn't cause enormous amounts of spit up (I did not know about these bottles) although baby does not seem to have any issues, I am not taking any chances , haha.

I have been using these bottles for a little over 3 months now and the only complaints that I do have are minor. Cleaning May be difficult when in a rush, there are just so many parts, although necessary parts, it's just a pain to clean the bottles. Secondly, I have had a couple leaks but not sure if it is because they weren't put together tight enough or what.

First off I'm just going to go ahead and say it. I HATE these bottles. BUT, when we first got them I did absolutely love them. They were perfect for my LO and I think they really did help with gas. They do just as they are advertised to do. Now that my baby is 4-months-old, they are completely worthless to me. The reason for this is that probably around 2 months or so she was no longer gassy no matter what bottle I used (apparently all babies are gassy during this time, who knew?). I am a first time mom and I have finally come to realize what most other moms already know: YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAND WASH ALL OF YOUR BOTTLES. IT IS OK TO PUT THEM IN THE DISHWASHER. Wow, it feels good to say that. I really wish someone would have told me this a long time ago. It is a learning experience I guess. These bottles are a complete pain to wash. If I'm being honest, when I first read about people complaining about too many parts, I thought they were just lazy. There I said it. Now I have come to realize they were not lazy. They were smart. I was completely OCD and I just wanted to do everything right. I think if anything, get yourself a small pack or two of these bottles for the beginning months. Then switch on over to Evenflo glass bottles (my favorite) or whatever other BASIC type of bottles you choose. (Just to clarify, I was using the plastic Dr. Brown's bottles not the glass ones). Oh and btw, you cannot simply take away the parts and try and feed your baby with just the bottle part and the nipple top. It will leak all over the place. I just got finished trying to feed my baby who was going down for a nap and her "waterproof" bib was completely soaked and she was sticky after I just bathed her. Needles to say I am not happy about it. Hence the reason for this review.

With my first child I chose Avent bottles and my poor child was miserable with terrible gas pain. It wasn't until my second child, when I started using Dr. Brown's, that I realized that it was the Avent bottles that made my first baby gassy. Baby 2 never had gas or stomach problems and the reason I chose Dr. Brown's to begin with is that a friend of mine that works as a NICU nurse told me that those are the brand of bottles that her hospital uses, obviously in a much smaller size to suit their preemie patients! Now that I'm having baby 3, there is no guess for me in which bottles I'm choosing! Cleaning all the parts are definitely worth the investment in having happy and healthy babies!

A lot of people told me this bottle was the best for babies so I got them. After using them for a few weeks we found they didn't help her colic, she wasn't able to burp, and they have so many parts you have to clean the little round piece on the inside really quickly or formula/breast milk residue gets stuck in places and its hard to get them cleaned and sanitized!!
