      As a new foster family with no prior children, we started out with a 3 week old and then a 3 month old. Of course, we had to formula feed, and these were the first bottles we tried. Both kids are naturally gassy throughout the day, but I don't attribute that to the bottle. (You can actually hear the air venting out.) While there are several parts, we don't find them a hassle - hand washing or not. We just got an extra dish washer basket and can fit most pieces for all 12 bottles at once in them. Definitely recommend and have no reason to switch to another style/brand.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      Other then Similac's bottle these are the only ones that go slow enough and get rid of enough air to make burping easier. Due to an early stage nursing strike we ended up combining formula feedings and nursing. It wasn't until we went to this bottle that he would take to breastfeeding again though, so it does seem like they mimic the breast quite well. I went out and bought 12 of them. No dishwasher, so a few clean ones go up to the nursary at night. The fact they have as many parts makes handwashing a pain though.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      These bottles are amazing! The boys rarely got gas and didn't need much burping. There are a few parts to the bottles but totally worth it. They leak if you do not put them together right, which happens when you are halfway awake trying to make bottles.
