I've been using this monitor ever since my daughter was born in February 2012. I've never had any problems with it. With my first child, I used the old fashioned sound monitors and went running in his room anytime I heard anything, which most of the time was the branch hitting his window. Needless to say, I got no sleep for the whole first year of his life. I love this monitor! Anytime I hear anything, I can just peak over and check on my daughter in complete reassurance. I love all the features about this monitor...definitely worth every penny! The only thing that is a little bit of a con is the fact the video does not stay on if it isn't plugged into the power plug but that's ok, just hit the video button and I can see my precious girl again.

Very disappointed in quality! We have gone through 3 of these monitors within 7 months. They should last years- we are done with this brand. First one just stopped working after 6 months. Second one the screen image was flashy like an old movie. The third one the camera moved by itself(Had it focused on baby then without me touching it it would pan somewhere else), the temp. reading was about 10 degrees off and it would go out of range even when the monitor and camera were right next to each other. Great features but if it doesn't work then it's all no good.

- Good reception (about 60 feet distance only)
- Stunning sound quality
- Cool features (pan, zoom, room temperature, etc)

We purchased this product to replace its predecessor the summer baby touch plus. I am really paranoid and given the previous reviews on the product was hesitant to purchase but decided to go ahead and try it out given how much we liked the one we had. I will say I personally love the monitor! The picture is amazing, much better resolution than most cameras even on night vision. The touchscreen interface is super easy to use. And while it is a bit touchy ( other parents said they accidentally moved camera while carrying) you can push the button on top and the picture will 'sleep' to avoid this and you can still hear baby. The picture is really the biggest improvement. I also like the small light they added to the camera that can offer baby some secure feelings and the talk back feature is a huge must. It's nice to be able to let them know we are there without having to always go in. Especially for our older son. We purchased an additional camera for his room as well. We have had no issues with out of range or with connection. As far as the thermometer they have added, our temperature registers about 2 degrees more than it is in there... This is probably because we keep it plugged in and as a result there is some heat generated. Overall I would give this camera a try! I am fully happy with it and as I said great resolution!

I had the same experience as Mom from MA. It worked for one day, and after that, it is constantly "out of range". Literally 1 foot away from the camera, the receiver is "out of range". Judging by the other reviews, it doesn't seem like this is an isolated problem. I tried re-syncing it to no avail. Going to return it to the store, and I think I'm going for a refund or store credit, because I get the impression I wouldn't have any more luck with a replacement of the same model.

I bought this in the store even though it felt very cheap and it turned out to be cheap as well. It worked beautifully the first night I had it. Clear picture, sound, temperature was 10 degrees off, but I knew it would be based on other reviews. The second night I woke up at midnight and it was "Out of Range" 1 room away from the camera. I got up and synced it and it worked for an hour and then "Out of Range" again. I did this 3 times before realizing it wasn't going to work. Returned it to the store this morning.

Bought this product in lieu of the Motorola that is comparable (simply because the 20% off coupon excluded Motorola products) -- some reviews made me hesitant but I knew if I didn't like it, I would bring it back and return. Well, I was pleasantly surprised with the clear image, the simplicity of how it worked, and the night vision. I have an older child as well, so it's nice to be able to talk into the monitor to tell him to leave the baby alone or be quiet! The night vision is a little grainy which is expected with night vision but is more clear than my cell phone image at night. Also, no light comes on with the night vision and when the camera moves it is almost silent. My husband and I were both pleased with the product and glad we got to save $50 with the coupon! Good luck to all the mommies out there looking for great products!

My DD is 2 years old, and we have been using the Angelcare Deluxe Movement & Sound monitor for the last 2 years since her birth. I have kicked myself a million times for not registering for a video monitor while pregnant. After much consideration, I purchased the Summer Infant BabyTouch Plus 2.0. Now, I'm wondering if all video monitors are this way. After DD, was probably 9 months old, we quit using the movement part of the Angelcare...so that was never a real benefit of that unit. But I did REALLY enjoy having 2 parent units. I kept one on the charging unit beside my bed, and the other in the living room. This allowed me to hear from basically anywhere in our downstairs portion without taking the parent unit with me everywhere I went. I didn't have to remember to put it back on the charger, unless I took it outside or removed it. I finally decided to get a video monitor, as it's nearing the time to convert the crib to a toddler bed. Her bedroom is UP and ours is DOWN. She is a climber. After much debating on if it's necessary to get a video monitor now that she is 2 years old, I finally decided that we would likely be using a monitor for another 2 years. We could use it while she plays with her older cousin in her room -- and just for piece of mind during this bed transition period.

Here are my complaints about my particular SI BABY TOUCH2.
- Our home is 60' across. Video monitor is upstairs. About 25' from the camera (downstairs), it cuts out and says OUT OF RANGE. This is much less range than my AngelCare gave me! I could go 75 feet away and through an exterior wall with that unit before it cut out. (I called SI and they say this must be a faulty unit and should return it.)

- As the other reviewer stated, a battery pack is not included with the BabyTouch2. I looked on the box, and the box says, "Battery Camera Pack requires 4 AA batteries, not included." I inquired about this when I called SI for above issue. They said that a battery pack should have been included, and that they would happily mail me one. Since I am still trying to figure out if I'm keeping this unit, I haven't taken them up on it yet. Very odd, because the box packaging doesn't look like it's missing it. You have to look on the side to read that comment about the Battery Camera Pack.

- My thermometer is completely off too!! SI again, said it sounds like my unit is defective. Like the other reviewer, it registers about 8-10 degrees hotter than my thermostat, and the AngelCare.

- The display is better than I thought. It's hard for me to see her with detail through the crib slats. If she was an infant, I'm not sure that seeing this would be much comfort. But I haven't placed my camera at the optimal location yet because I didn't want to drill an unecessary hole into the wall unless I'm keeping this! I can definitely tell when she stands up in her crib, but when she lies down it's hard for me to see any facial features or anything.

- We play some rain background noise as she sleeps. This monitor picks that up, so I hear a slight buzz. The AngelCare somehow muted that out completely. It's consistent enough that I can sleep with it...but it's just kinda annoying that there is a hum to it. The AngelCare was completely silent until she muttered any words!

-While the video unit is really neat, I think I will really miss having 2 parent units positioned in my home. I don't think I want to tote the parent unit everywhere all the time for an older child.

- The touch screen can be pretty sensitive. I have picked it off the base and adjusted the camera inadvertently.

- I do really like the Talk- Back feature. My 2 year old seems to think it's really neat.

- The feature that allows you to follow movement is really neat. I only tested it once. It seemed to work, but I wonder how practical this is for the long term. It seems to me that the more the camera pans, the quicker it will break. It is a moving part after all. For that reason, I wouldn't plan to keep it on that feature except for special circumstances.

- I might be willing to live with some of these annoyances if I could keep my AngelCare operating simultaneously. When I called SI about the out of range problem, they told me that I needed to unplug the old monitor. He said that they were probably interfering with each other. I did unplug the old monitor and it made my range on the SI about 10 feet further, but still not all within my home!!

- I waited on hold about 10 minutes with SI. I spoke to 2 different customer service reps. They were very courteous, plain-English speaking people, based on the east coast somewhere. For that I am please and am really considering switching out for another SI unit of the same model to see if that does make a difference. If not, I may exchange for the Motorola model, or return completely and go back to my AngelCare only.

I polled all my mom friends and I have at least 3 who highly recommended the Summer Infant video monitors. Their's are about 2 years old. Maybe this new model has a batch of lemons?! I thought hard about just getting the BabyTouch (older model), since the price was the same. But I figured it made more sense to get the new technology.

If I exchange and have better luck, I will update a review!!
