This is a good set if you don't have the original, which is so expensive to buy now. The minifigures are better and it's quite versatile. My main gripe though is the front end which doesn't have the authenticity of the original and should have been steeper and more faithful to the film (the front canon is a nice touch though). Usually the most upto date Lego sets tend to better the originals, but I'm not so sure about this one. It is also rather pricey too, and you have to purchase the skiff set separately for it to make sense, but overall it's worth buying if you're a big Star Wars fan and don't have the original set (and even deeper pockets to buy one!).

This is a set which is definitely not worth £100 in the UK. That was way too overpriced. The set is also good when combined with the Desert Skiff but otherwise it's not much fun to play with. The pros to the set are the new minifigures and the hidden cannon at the front of the barge. Here are my figure ratings: Jabba the Hutt: 10/10 Princess Leia:10/10 Max Rebo:10/10 Ree-Yees:10/10 Weequay:9/10 R2-D2: 8/10 I also like the deck cannon, jail and Max Rebo's instrument The cons to the set are the price, no skiff or sarlacc, no Tessek, no Luke, Han, Chewie, Boba Fett or even any Gamorrean Guards. In the old Sail Barge (6210) the kitchen was really cool because it had lots of food such as chicken, frogs and snakes etc. and even Jabba's smoking pipe. The new kitchen only has a chicken, fish, pot, pan and a blue ice cream piece. No frogs, snakes or Jabba's pipe. This was very disappointing.

The last couple of years ...

By iReckon

from Undisclosed

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Jabba's Sail Barge (75020):

The last couple of years have seen Jabba the Hutt’s stock go up considerably in LEGO terms. After years of existence as only a dull green lump of plastic inside a flimsy, hand-me-down palace or absurdly-expensive second-hand sail barge, he’s finally been given texture and form inside a meticulous, sand-washed world comprised of four separate but companionable sets. The most recent of these to see release was 2013’s Jabba’s Sail Barge, which I found myself unwrapping on Christmas Day that year, having bought it in a Toys Я Us September sale and then given it to my wife to "surprise" me with on 25th December. Whilst it boasts only around seventy pieces more than the slightly-longer 2006 superset (set #6210), which also included the Sarclaac pit and a desert skiff, this 43cm incarnation of the anti-luxury liner boasts a finish that’s much sleeker and more detailed than its predecessor, finally brining it in line with the quality of the recent Return of the Jedi-themed releases. Its Jabba megafigure is identical to the one released with Jabba’s Palace, which of course means that it impresses both aesthetically and when it comes to playability too. I was more excited about getting my hands on the elephantine musician known to Star Wars enthusiasts as Max Rebo though, as I believe that this is his first appearance in LEGO form. And with his uniquely-moulded headpiece (which has his trademark bulbous proboscis and almost cute lop ears) he does not disappoint. The three-eyed, gun-toting Ree-Yees is almost as distinctive, and again I don’t recall him ever being made available as a LEGO minifigure prior to this set’s release. Accompanying them is a bald Weequay clearly in Jabba’s employ, and R2-D2, who this time comes with a bespoke encumbrance that allows him to serve a few drinks to Jabba’s cronies before supplying Luke with his emergency lightsaber. One of the most startling omissions from the Jabba’s Palace set was Princess Leia in her legendary gold bikini â€" what Dorling Kindersley’s LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia describes, somewhat playfully, as “Demure Princess Leiaâ€ â€" who found herself dropped in favour of a Leia styled in her Ubese bounty hunter getup. However, this set finally provides us with Leia in all her glory, her reversible headpiece having been updated to contemporary standards and even her posterior showing new definition. She also comes with shackles capable of binding her to her Hutt captor, which is a particularly nice touch as it allows young builders to restage the movie’s despatching of the vile gangster. The vehicle itself has been cleverly redesigned to allow easier access to its innards. In this iteration, its deck lifts off and both its sides fold out, allowing even the largest of hands inside to place Jabba on his deathbed; lock Leia away in the holding cell; or even put Max or Artoo to work in the grubby kitchen. In fact, there’s so much space available above and below deck that you’ll need to draft in minifigures from sister sets to make the barge look shipshape. I’d especially recommend lining it up with the Desert Skiff set, which many contend should have formed part of this set as it did #6210. Something that really surprised me about this model was its robustness. Equipped with well-hidden wheels that allow it to navigate the laminate as easy as the real thing could the Jundland Wastes or the Great Pit of Carkoon, the finished craft survived more than twenty minutes in the hands of my then-two-year-old, who found it far more stimulating than her age-appropriate Christmas DUPLO. Even after twenty minutes, the only breakages to speak of were the pulled-off sheet-plastic sails, which were easily reattached. Even the peek-a-boo windows (with their vulnerable stickers…) survived countless openings and closures. A fine addition to the Hutt criminal cartel, and indeed the larger world of Star Wars LEGO, this shorter, sleeker and more detailed vision of Jabba’s infamous barge is guaranteed to light the imagination of anyone from playing child to ageing geek.

This was a great buy. My son is young but loves lego and starwars. It was complicated enough to make him think and work to get it together but he enjoyed every minute and loves to play with it and makes "scenes".

Jabba's Sail Barge

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Jabba's Sail Barge (75020):

Let me start by stating that I believe many reviews of this set are overly critical. Overall this is a good set that has plenty of playability and also contains some great minifigures. My only complaint that I could say is that I believe that set was a little too expensive for what it is. Nevertheless, it is still a very unique set that I am happy I purchased.

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Jabba's Sail Barge (75020):

Its not worth $150. That's the blunt truth. If you still want to know why, see below. Max Rebo and the other new mini figures are cool but this set needs more. Perhaps if the set also included the sarlaac, Luke, Lando and the desert skiff it would be worth the price. On the brighter side I thought the hidden cannon was cool. Honestly, unless you are serious about collecting Lego Star Wars I cannot recommend this to anyone.

Good, not great...

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Jabba's Sail Barge (75020):

One of the main reasons I bought this set was to complete my LEGO jabba collection 2012-2013, this set is pricey, and I would buy it if you had the same reasons as me, or a return of the Jedi fan. The minifigures: Jabba the Hutt: This is still the same jabba that came in Jabbas palace, he is a 3 piece build, and can turn his head in a 360 degree angle, and has movable arms, this guy doesn't do much, other sit in his palace and watch victims get eaten, but he is pretty good. 7/10. Slave leia: This is the 3rd version of this enslaved princess, for return of the Jedi fans, she is a must have in your collection, she has a new hair piece that goes around her neck chain (points to LEGO) has her 2011 reversible head, and front and back printing that is amazing, she is one of the reasons you might want this set. 10/10 R2-D2: Much like princess leia, R2 was enslaved, and forced to serve drinks, he is nothing too special, but a great touch to this set. 7/10. Max Rebo: Max is the little blue alien that entertain members on the barge with his music, his body is entirely blue, ans has an elephant like large blue mold, I feel like he will a LEGO collectors item as this is probably the only set he will be in. 8/10 Ree-Yees: I don't know what exactly to say about this three eyed guy, he carries an average star wars blaster, has a very unique head mold, and good printing. 7/10 Weequay: He is the guard of jabbas barge, he comes with a spear ax thing, and excellent printing, I feel thing he was mixed up with this set and the desert skiff, because he is the one who pushed Luke off the skiff. 9/10. For this next part of the review, I will split the sail barge into 2 parts the deck, and the inside. The Deck: In my opinion the deck is small, but it still is good, the canon can be a bit confusing, because it has flick fire missiles, but the canon should not fire flick fire, also the shade flags, are too lowered, and super obnoxious during play. 5/10 The inside: starting from the canon to the Max Rebo area, the canon feature is really nice, it fires like a pirate ship canon, and has four pieces of ammo, the prison is a nice touch, if you were to make up your own adventure it could come in handy, the kitchen defiantly needs to be here, because Jabba loves food, the food includes a turkey leg, a fish, and a blue bubbly thing, also a grill is included, Max Rebo area, this is an iconic Jabba material, it spins around, and fits Max well. 9/10. Overall, this set is pretty good, it is not a must have, I would recommend this if you love return of the Jedi, and have purchased the desert skiff. minifigures: 8/10 The sail Barge: 7/10 75020 Jabbas sail Barge: 7.5/10

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Jabba's Sail Barge (75020):

Back when I first got into legos, I saw the old Jabba's Sail Barge, but I couldn't get it because it retired. Then last year I found out that there was a new one being released, so I had to get it. Once I got it, I didn't regret it. Pros: The awesome new minifigures Great play expirience (If you have the desert skiff) fun build cool interior max reebo's instrument (or whatever that blue elephant is called) Cons: The price is a bit too high. overall a great set!
