Hello, This is my first review and I am trying to make it as detailed as possible to ensure the best possible experience for those who decide to purchase this set. I was conflicted between purchasing this set or the 10240 UCS X-Wing Starfighter. I eventually settled on this set and so far am glad that I did. I am now going to review the set in multiple categories. Minifigures: It is cool to see the old yellow flesh color as it is how all minifigs used to be printed, but in this set it serves as a throwback to older sets and appeals to old school Lego fans. The minifigs in this set are fairly interesting and some of them actually do have back printing, which is always a plus. My only criticism is that only one blue-shirted cinema worker is included, because two are needed to run the snack bar and ticketing booth. The Build: The build for this set was very complicated at times, but not overly difficult. This set does include numbered bags, and each of the bags labeled 1, 2, or 3 corresponds to the three sections of the cinema: the first floor, second floor, and roof. However, the most difficult aspect of this build is interpreting the instruction booklet. There are times when the view of the set on the booklet is from a weird angle and it is hard to see where a piece is placed. This happened to me a few times, and I managed to get past it but inferring where the piece would be. My method, for the most part, worked. The Finished Product/Playability: First of all, this is a Modular Building, so don't expect a huge amount of playability besides moving the figures throughout the complex and removing the floors. The car is a nice touch that adds to the feel of the sets as an early 20th century movie theater. The movie posters and screen are, disappointingly, stickers, but they are not too difficult to apply and look great once they are attached. Otherwise, the detail is astounding throughout the building and it makes a great centerpiece for a Lego collection. Final Thoughts: This is my first Modular Building and I am truly amazed at the detail on the build as well as the value and piece price ratio (2194 pieces for $150). This is a great set for any Lego builder who wants to venture into the world of Modular Buildings, but keep in mind during the build there are points where you might have to "read between the lines" on the instructions. Enjoy the set! JMCbricks

I'd have to give this an average at best. I've been following and collecting each modular building as they've come out and this one unfortunately takes a small step backwards. The interior is sparse and, most strangely, the rooftop is half done. The back of the roof slopes are incomplete, which is odd when compared to the other modular buildings that have the entire roof done. It was a fun build and a great model, but when compared to the other modular buildings, it seems a bit lacking.

Comments about LEGO Creator Palace Cinema (10232):

A family member bought this set for me to add to my collection. As I enjoy sets with over a 1000 pieces. This one was a good one. Not too challenging and was only missing five pieces. I would recommend this set to those that are experienced or those that like a challenge.

Comments about LEGO Creator Palace Cinema (10232):

This is my first creator building set and I could not be more pleased. I've been collecting LEGO since I was 6 and this has been by far my favorite build. Even after The completed build, I found it satisfying to just lift up the roof/2nd floor just to see inside. Overall, great build, great to look at.

Comments about LEGO Creator Palace Cinema (10232):

I got this set for Christmas a few years ago. It took me a few days to build because of school, but I finished. I really like this set! I am building a town and this is a good building to use for it. Now for the building review: 1st floor: Pretty good, I liked the spiral stairs, but they could have done something with the floor like tile it. 2nd floor: Also good, I think they should have added more seating, however. 3rd floor: I like what they did with the slanted roof and the tall motif in the center. The two things I liked the most in this set were the "Palace" display and the car. The Palace display looks very accurate and well scaled down. However, there is a window behind it that gets blocked by it. Brick conservation maybe??? The car is so amazing! I love its design so much! I can't get over how well built it is. 9/10, would recommend.

This Lego set is fantastic! I got this for my birthday and I love it. The build was fantastic. Lego did an excellent job including all the fun details. The ticket area, the concessions, the screening room, and the roof! I love the 2x2 tiles with indicating the famous people! I highly recommend this!

Impressed

Comments about LEGO Creator Palace Cinema (10232):

I recently started collecting Lego Modulars, and this one really impressed me. Each modular presents its own vibe- and this one has a really attractive color scheme and relatively low cost compared to some of the other modulars. It doesn't use challenging building techniques- everything is relatively simple comparing it to other modulars that I have purchased (Fire Brigade, Pet Shop, and Assembly Square). All of those other sets have more complicated building techniques. The Palace Cinema is still a fun build though. It's a two-story design that includes a simple stairwell with one curve between the levels. The snack counter and ticket sales area on the first floor are well done with lots of fun details. The second floor theater has room for six viewers plus the projectionist. I was a bit disappointed that the projector wasn't in a room by itself- but instead is elevated behind the seats. I was also disappointed that there were no curtains or other coverings for the windows on the second floor. Some others have complained about the stickers for the movie posters on the windows and the design of the black limo. I share the frustration over the stickers for the windows- I am always disappointed when Lego decides to use stickers for a Creator Expert Set. For the price they charge for these, stickers really are not appropriate. Lego knows that people collect these and display them- and stickers will eventually show signs of wear and start peeling off. I actually don't have a problem with the black limo. I like its shape and only wish that there wasn't such a huge gap in the wheel-well areas. Other than that- I really like the style and shape of the limo. If you have other modulars- you don't really need an endorsement to buy this- just do it. If you are new to modulars, the Palace Cinema might be a good place to start- just know that collecting modulars from Lego is a very expensive hobby. ...Regardless- get it soon. Now that the Pet Shop is retired, the Palace Cinema is the oldest one around... It is well beyond the normal lifespan of a modular... and is likely to retire sometime in the next year. Happy Building!
