The bike came quickly, it's a gorgeous blue and a very cool bike for any kid. I actually bought this for my daughter now and then to pass it on to her younger brother. I tried to put it together and got stuck at putting on the front wheel and hooking up the brakes. The instructions were for "all" of the brands bikes and not very helpful to me, someone who has never put together a bike, but can usually put together anything. So I took it to our local bike shop. They said there were some issues with the bike, one being the brakes, that needed to be addressed so I'm happy I did. It cost $30 at the bike shop and worth every penny. If I buy a bike online again I will take it directly to the pros. It rides very well, is extremely cool looking for a boy or a girl and I would buy again.I would have given this 5 starts, but only gave 4 due to the assembly instructions and the fact that there were issues that needed to be fixed by the bike shop. My daughter loves it and my son can't wait to get it next summer when she moves up to a 20".

My son fell in love with this bike in store & saved up all his money to purchase after his birthday. We could have waited a few days to purchase it pre-assembled but decided to buy it that day and assemble at home. Can't be that hard as I consider myself good at building and following directions. First the assembly book for this bike is the same book for dozens of various bikes by the same manufator so there are no clear pictures for assembly. The instructions I found to be confusing and frustrating so after hours of trying to assemble the brakes I was burnt out. My husband tried for an hour and gave up. I watched dozens of you tube videos for assembly of brakes to better understand assembly and I still had trouble. Because the brake assembly was not as easy as expected the repeated efforts to assemble caused for several broken brake cords. I had to adjust all the pads and brakes which sounds simple but it is definitely not. Finally was able to get the brakes installed without rubbing on the tires and operable which was a huge success. But my adjusting left the brake levers (front, back) very different as far as needs to be pressed to work. Which is okay since again it is operable. For anyone thinking of purchasing this bike make sure you get the free assembly for sanity & safety.

Great bike for 5/6-year-old boy!

About Me Casual/ Recreational
Comments about Dynacraft Boys' 18 Inch Tony Hawk Philly Bike:
We purchased this for my 5-year-old boy as he was finally letting go of his training wheels. It's a great, sturdy, good-looking bike. One reason we chose this over the other bikes the same size is because of the front & rear brakes. Because he's still new at riding without training wheels, it was important for him to be able to use his pedals to brake or to choose to use the brakes on the handlebars. Not all bikes this size have both. The tires are nice - a little heavier & slightly more rugged. It's just a great overall boys' bike. We definitely recommend it!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Perfect fit, but even better service

This is my son's first BMX style bike, but he's an avid rider. This one is perfect for him!
About Me Casual/ Recreational, Getting Started
It's an OK bike very heavy compared to other bikes that I bought in the past. It however looks like a well built bike.
Great bike for 6yrs old
My son just turned 6 yrs and he loves this bike. It has very good looks and he loved this color. It feels little bit heavy so I removed the foot pegs for now. I can put it back may be after 6mnths once he is little more stronger.

This bike is well out together. The paint will not come off easy. The front and back pegs add for having a friend ride on as well.
Nice bike a little heavy

My son loves it this is his first bike without training wheel. And its sturdy and durable. If it can withstand a five year old it can handle anything.
Everything he wanted

This bike has everything my 5 year old grandson wanted. Brake with the pedals, no training wheels(he learned to ride when he was three years old) and pegs on the back, "so his friends can ride with him standing on the back).
the best buy yet
from Long Beach CA
My son loves riding his new Tony Hawk Bike. We bought it already assembled, which saved us lots of hassle. It is put together nice and secure. I was shocked to discover that the bike has both hand and foot brakes, which makes stopping a lot easier. And makes me feel a little better knowing my son has more control over the bike. The only problem is that the handle bar grip was torn when we bought it. But that's a very minor issue. Otherwise it's a great bike.
