Bought 2 of theses this weekend to corral my 1 yr old. They work wonderfully! Easy to install. My husband and I had them up and in working condition in under 20 minutes. They fit tightly to the wall and are very sturdy! This replaced moving furniture in front of the hallway to keep him out of the bathroom...definitely a good buy!!

I am a first time parent but because we have 2 dogs, I have been buying baby gates for the past 7 years. We have had the wooden ones and last we had the Evenflow baby gate, but when expecting a baby I wanted something that didn't have the spaces, where he could crawl up to it and put his fingers through. We don't have vicious dogs or anything I just wanted a hard flat surface on the sides. This gate was perfect! It is very easy too to open one handed while holding baby, and easy swing open and close..our Evenflow had always popped out of suction everytime we opened it, so we always stepped over it! Not ideal and safe for you and baby! We especially love this one because it screws to the wall, never popping out of place!

I love these gates! We have 3 in our home since we have stairs (one at top, one at bottom) and we want to keep our daughter out of the kitchen.

Very easy to handle and install one handed. Doesn't require time to set up if you're not using the hinges. Very effective and simple to manange.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS GATE TO ANYONE THAT HAS A CLIMBER!
i bought this gate because it said climb proof right on the box, i have tried everything possible and this gate is not climb proof at all! i have the gate mounted up off the floor (about 1ft)and have another baby gate on the other side to stop my youngest from crawling under but my oldest (2yr)still finds a way to dig his toes in and climb the gate.

we love this gate!! if you put a bad review for this product, you just don't have any clue on how to install a safety gate. the gate was easy to install, exceptionally sturdy. we have used 6 of these over the past 18 months and they have taken some serious use. They are constantly opened and closed all day long. My son just recently figured out how to climb over and he sits on it and jumps over it constantly. The gates are all on the brackets that we installed on the wall and are still strong as can be. I highly recommend this product until your little monster figures out how to jump them.

I love this gate because I can use it practically one-handed. I doesn't stick and is easy to move from place to place. I can use it downstairs or upstairs and it easily adjusts to where I need it! I love that I don't have to worry about baseboards because it adjusts as necessary. My daughter can't poke through it and it's easy to clean. I seriously love this gate! It did take a time or two before we finally figured it out (needs a little bit more instruction), but once we did, we loved it!

I have 4 of these in my house, all of which are being used now for the past 3 years without a problem. It's a wonderful gate that my son can lean on while at the bottom of the stairs and shaking it - not once has it fallen.
I "mount" mine between the painted wall and stained staircase at the top and bottom landings of my floors and inbetween the office/kitchen and kitchen/bathroom.
ONLY flaw I find with these, is that my son (like most toddlers) gets the translucent plastic dirty with his fingers, and just needs a little extra cleaning - no big deal, not a single issue with them.
In fact my sister in law is expecting and I'm about to buy her some for her house. My mother inlaw has one at her house - just to keep the dogs in the basement when guests are over - and not one of the three dogs can knock it over (and we're talking about a German Shepard, a Husky and a Rottweiler.)

Excellent gate, holds up, doesn't take the paint off my walls like some other tension gates I've used in the past. Definitly a great buy!

getting this adjusted properly is difficult. It seemed like it was either too loose or too tight.

There is no easy way to do fine adjustments once you have it close, and you want to make it a little looser or tighter.

There is no way I could figure to adjust the top vs. bottom widths independently. My doorway appears to be a little narrow at the bottom (i don't remember this being a problem with the gate i had previously).

We use this baby gate to keep our dog out of part of the house. It works perfectly for that.

It's easy to install the hinges and adjust the width. Opening and closing is a one-handed operation, which is nice.

However, it does rub the paint on the non-hinge side.
