Bought for my three year old for Christmas. What a disappointment! Not what I remembered as a kid. The hippos get stuck in the middle of play and the marbles are plastic. My three year old enjoys it but my five year old gets frustrated with it.

We have a 3yr old who was really excited to play. We got it home & it is so poorly made that I can't even play it! The hippos only work SOMETIMES. Other times they get stuck. It broke twice in 5min but my hubbie was able to get it working again. My husband & I remember it being better made when we were kids! It is going back tomorrow!

I dont usually leave negative reviews but I just HAD to on this product. As a fan of this game as a kid, I could not wait for my son to get it this Christmas. The quality of this game was shocking! Unlike the original game, the hippos are now separate from the board and are SO cheap. No pieces fit right and each hippo seemed to have an issue of its own. One wouldnt fit to the board properly, another wouldnt work at all, the others kept getting stuck. After several attempts at playing we gave up and threw it back in the box. I am absolutely disgusted by this piece of junk. How sad that they messed with a really good thing. Boo.

my 3 yr old son received this as a christmas gift, and he hasn't stopped wanting to play with it since!! i enjoyed it as a kid myself, and still enjoy it now with my son! it's easy to play.

there are a few negatives--it's loud, once it's put together, you can not put it back in the box without unassembling it--not easy to do. and there is nowhere to store the balls. so i'm having to use a tupperware container--how hard would it be to have a little compartment on the bottom of the game base for storage, and why can't they make the box big enough to put it away while assembled??

This is a great game from when I was a kid. I was excited when my girls asked for it for x-mas. They just don't make stuff the way they used to though. The plastic is thin and flimsy, the hippos get stuck when they eat and the marbles are plastic. In my day the marbles were REAL. The girls love it though and they play with their older cousins who also had it when they were younger. It is a great classic game, I just wished they made it with a better quality

I was worried about getting this game because some of the reviews said it was flimsy. I'm glad I got it. My son has a blast playing with it by himself or other people. One of the hippos gets stuck but if you hit the lever again it fixes itself. I wish it came with a few extra balls. We've lost one but we don't play by the rules anyway. I put half of the balls in and let him go crazy. Smart buy.

This game is still as fun as it was when I was a kid, but the quality leaves a lot to be desired. It's flimsy, takes a lot of time to assemble and nearly impossible to take it back apart to store it. One of the hippos won't even lock into place after the first time I unlocked it. On the other hand, my kids and I had a blast playing it and it's pretty hard to find something that is on both of their levels. Got it on a great sale, but would probably not pay full price for it

I have to agree with most reviews for this game about not being what it used to be years ago. When I was a kid, I enjoyed playing it very much with my sister and friends. Then I bought it for my daughter when she was younger and yes, the hippos' heads got stuck most of the time and the game is much smaller, it's very noticeable.... So I wouldn't buy it again.
