bought these for my son's 1st christmas, he didn't play with them much besides maybe stack 2 or 3 but now he is almost 2 and likes to play with them a lot. they are very good blocks, not the cheap light feeling ones that chip. these are sturdy and I am very happy with it. Deff worth the $.

I bought this set as a 1st birthday gift for my son. I know he is still a little young to really play with these- but the quality proves he will have them for his entire childhood. The wood has a smooth- clean surface. I am very pleased with this block set.

I was looking for a good set of blocks for my children. When they go to their grandparents' house, they have a set that they had bought for their children who have now grown up and their kids are now playing with the blocks! Since then, I wanted a set for my children. So, when Melissa and Doug offered these blocks, I jumped at the chance to buy these! They are larger too like the blocks we were used to playing with as children. Granted, the larger the blocks, the more expensive it is. However, when Toys-R-Us offered a great deal on these blocks, I purchased 3 sets! They also come in their own wooden box! Now, I bought these for them for Christmas so they haven't actually played with them yet. However, I know my children will love them since they already love playing with the blocks at their grandparents house! Great size, Great price, Great educational toy to stimulate their imagination!

My two-year-old daughter loves these blocks. Her and her daddy play with them every weekend in combination with a wooden train set. It also comes in a handy box so clean up is easy.

we love this set. I remember them from when I was young, our kindergarten class had them. They are super durable. We got 2 sets and my son uses them along with his wooden train tracks to build buildings etc. My husband put wheels on the bottom so they are easier to move around, as a full box is heavy.

Ordered this for 3-year old son right before second son was born. Has been played with every day for two weeks straight, and he only gets more creative with how the blocks can line up, be organized, fit together, etc. The plain finish leaves all his "buildings" open to interpretation and a harmonized appearance. It could have been his only Christmas toy this year and he would've been happy!

I ordered these for my 7 and 4 year old for Christmas. I was worried they would get tossed aside, with all the electronic gadgets to catch their eyes. However, they played with them Christmas day right along with all the other stuff.
Really heavy duty blocks. These are the basic ones, none of the unusual shapes, just the standards you remember as a kid.
They can get kinda loud on my son's wood floor, but he loves them!

With so many cheap & dangerous products on the market, I just wanted something that was safe for a toddler; would last because it was durable; and would actually stimulate creativity. The good old basic set of building blocks filled the need.
