My husband spends about two hours a day working out at the gym, and is in great shape, very strong guy. With our old infant car seats and our new convertible car seats (installed as rear-facing), he spent a lot of time trying to tighten down the belts as hard as he could, and there was still some play from side to side.

I stumbled upon an advertisement for Mighty-Tite on a different website, but we purchased two (one for each car) from our local Babies R Us. My husband was of course skeptical and didn't like the idea of wasting money (he hates spending money) on a gimmick but reasoned we could always return them.

After less than a minute, he was done, and the car seat couldn't budge! He was of course shocked and surprised that it did such a great job in so little time, and with so little effort. After putting the second one in the other car he said, "Definitely worth the money!"

I trust the strength of the lock. It adds a little extra comfort in safety with my pre exsisting seatbelt. Simply follow the directions provided and the product will be effective. This product is not easy to move, so it is best if you dont move car seats from one car to another a lot.

I will start by saying I never had my carseat inspected because I could find no one to do it. When my daughter was born, I was required to bring the carseat up to the nursery where I had to show I knew how to strap her in. I was successful. The car seat tech asked if I had any questions. I said yes, I could not figure out how to install the car seat base so it did not move to much. I asked her to come iwth me and help. She told me se was not allowed because of liability, and that I needed to check the belt(which I, and others, did over, and over, and over). Since then, I have tried fire stations, police stations, Babies R Us well meaning friends and bought another car seat, convinced the one I was trying was not meant to work in my car. The second seat still did not work. Same problem, new seat, even tried a different car. First was a 1999 Suburban(no LATCH), 2nd was a 2002 Jetta(with LATCH)
This brings me to my review:
THANK GOD there was something to help me get my daughters car seat strapped in tightly. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Sunshine Kids!!
If you cannot get your child's seat installed tightly, get this. Tighten the seat. Get your kid safe. As far as the naysayer car seat techs and thier concerns about it coming off in an accident, I say:
1) You do not live where I do, or I would have tracked you down and had you help me install the carseat without the device, if you could. I spent 6 months looking for help with an incorrectly installed carseat and hit dead ends. The numbers and people from the National traffic and Highway safety site are outdated, and many have stopped inspecting because of liability issues.
2)If it pops off in an accident, my kid will be no worse off than she as in the 1st place. If it stays on, she will be better off.

I have a now three year old son and a little girl on the way. This thing was an absolute lifesaver! No matter how tight I tightened the seatbelt in my car, it was never tight enough to keep the carseat {either his infant seat when he was younger, or his big seat now} from moving around. When I saw this, I didn't even look at the price, I grabbed it. You just slip it onto the seatbelt and crank. Very simple. And it WORKS. I would absolutely buy this product again.

Wow! first off everyone EVERYONE having a baby should have this mainly because the STUPID carseats, every single one i've ever known, tip over when you turn and its just down right unsafe, i was constantly reaching back holding my daughters car seat, so now i ask, whats more unsafe, me not having both hands on the wheel or my daughters carseat tipping over? In reading the reviews i have to say this: If this comes off in an accident chances are the accident was severe and at a high speed and car seats are only tested at 30mph anyways so my car seat will fail as well! I love this product i just installed it, SOOO EASY! and im am looking forward to my daughter staying upright and me keeping both hands on the wheel, This should be on a must haves list somewhere! Good job mighty tite!

I have been trained as a car seat tech. Anytime a car come in with this we would take it off. It stretches the car seat belt and has been known to come off in accidents. Don't Buy. I wish I could give it 0 stars.

We found this product after struggling for months with seats in small cars and many ordeals involved in changing vehicles where seat just wasn't right. This solved our problems! Must make sure the seat belt is fully extended and then retracting with clicks before putting on and tightening or won't work. Properly used there is NOTHING BETTER!! Works GREAT!!!!! Seats don't even wiggle. LOVE IT!

I have an older car without the LATCH system, and could never get my daughter's car seat installed tight enough with the seat belt alone. The Mighty Tite eliminated that problem and my constant concern over the safety of her seat installation. I agree with the earlier review that this product is a time saver and a back saver! Just bought another one for my infant seat base for when my second baby arrives.

When you use this product ,you know that the car seat and your child are going to stay in place. Once you figure out how to loosen to remove, it is a cinch to change with different vehicles. Gives you a piece of mind when using with the free moving upper searbelts.

This product is not recomended by car seat manufacturers and may void the warranty. Can damage seatbelts. Aftermarket products are not crash tested. Ask your auto and car seat manufacturers, they will both tell you not to use this product!! If you can't get the car seat installed tightly find a car seat inspection site for help.
