Comments about Learning Resources Pretend & Play Tool Set:

I ordered this for my 18 month old and he absolutely LOVES it! the drill and the wood is the coolest thing. The way that the wood is meant to look like you've drilled a hole into and opens up- is the best! I am very pleased with this set. would recommend it over the cheaper sets any day! we took away the small choking hazard pieces. My son hasn't put the toys down for 3 days! his favorite and I love that it gives me a minute to do what I need to while he's drilling "holes" into the wood. very cute and sturdy toy. I havent' even tried the belt on him yet. Not really a concern of mine.

Comments about Learning Resources Pretend & Play Tool Set:

Bought this set a couple years ago as a present for my then 3yr old. He's 5 now and he and his almost 3yr old younger brother are still playing with it, with no end in sight. So the age range on this toy is clearly GREAT!
*comes with it's own tool (aka storage) box!
      *the variety of tools
*the fairly realistic way they look and work
*the great drilling action complete with drill sound!
*not too many tiny pieces to get lost
      *no annoying music
*encourages imaginative, independent & cooperative play!
*tools are mostly very durable (see cons)

1)The tool belt was disappointing out of the box because the plastic it's made out of makes it difficult to snap on (my boys have to ask me to put it on them)and it's smallest possible diameter is still a little large even on my 5 yr old. We solved this by putting it on sling style. The stiffness & size of the belt also makes it a bit tricky to put back into the tool box, but it's still definitely doable and by the time he was 4 my biggest boy had no problem doing it on his own.

2)Just a couple weeks after opening it, my rough boys pulled the cloth measuring tape apart from it's wind-up case. The measuring tape got tossed, but my boys still play with the case. (but my boys can be pretty rough on things, so not sure if that's a product problem or not)

I noticed another reviewer mention that the "wood" for drilling doesn't have legs. This is true, but has never been a problem for my boys. They either held it while drilling without problem or they just set it on the carpet and drilled into that. I suppose it might be a tiny issue if you only have hard wood floors, but then you could use a furniture cushion instead. The drill wouldn't hurt it, that's for sure.

      Bottom Line:
My boys have used this set to "fix" things all over the house for years now. I would definitely recommend this to friends.

Comments about Learning Resources Pretend & Play Tool Set:

After having this item for one day, the pliers keeps falling apart, the latch on the tool box has fallen off and the tool belt does not stay latched so it does not stay on. Also, the little board it comes with doesn't have any legs so when he drills, he has to hold it up for the drill to go thru the holes. Very disappointed in the poor quality.
