Comments about Learning Resources Soft Magnetic Combo Set:

I was disappointed with the magnetic set that I received[...]. The colors were inconsistent (not all of the capital letters were the same color and not all of the lower case letters were the same color). I chose this set because I was leary of my toddler possible swallowing loose pieces from a hard magnetic set, and that seems to be the only benefit to this set.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
