I think other reviewers (assuming normal delivery), are right. This is probably not great for general postpartum support. It is not binding or "supertight", as some complain. But on the flip side, it was great for me and my c-section. The fabric is soft and stretchy. It provides enough support to hold in those slack stomach muscles in the days after surgery, enough to allow you to get out of bed easily! And that is a feat after a c-section.The support is gentle enough to not irritate your incision line, and firm enough to make those long but necessary hospital hallway walks bearable or even possible. I am normally a size 6-8 and the small/medium was a little tight on me after delivery due to swelling. Now it fits great and still provides the support I need while my stomach heals. All in all, I gave it four stars, because it does occasionally curl up on the bottom due to the softness of the fabric, but I have round hips so I think that's my figure's fault. But that is not a big deal considering that it's allowed me to be functional and moving from the day after surgery on (walking really helps you heal faster!)I couldn't have survived without this! Best money I ever spent. I think Medela should market this item more as a c-section recovery aid than as a postpartum binder.

I bought this for support after my c-section and it didn't do the trick. I bought it (in-store) in L/XL size and though I had to stretch it to put it around me, it still somehow seemed loose. It has a big velcro section that doesn't flex with you and makes a "crinkly" sound when you try to bend it. The velcro is bulky and you can see where the closure is under your clothes. I gave it two stars because it did seem to help a bit with support at first but it always rode up eventually, pushing the top of the band and the stiff velcro closure right under my breasts. This means that the band is no longer giving the support in the area I need it most which is down lower. If you don't get the velcro lined up just right it will either have a big bulky wrinkle where you've bunched up the closure or you'll get the scratchy side of the velcro catching on stuff.During my pregnancy my doctor told me I had to get a support band because I was carrying very low and I bought the Mini Cradle elastic support that closes with bra-hook type closure. It was much less noticable under my clothes, still adjustable, and had tighter elastic giving it better support. I tried wearing the Mini Cradle after my surgery and it was the right type of support but the band wasn't wide enough, which is why I bought the Medela. I would NOT recommend this product. I would have returned it but I threw away the packaging so I couldn't. I say go to the store, take one out of the package and try it on if you still consider buying this, then make the decision.

Better off using plastic wrap
Comments about Medela Postpartum Support in Nude: S-M:
First time I used it, it is bulky under your clothes, you see it under your shirts. I didn't like that it was almost rolling up on me. You'd be better off wrapping your stomach in plastic food wrap instead. I'm definitely going to just purchase a bodysuit or waist trainer made especially for that instead, it just didn't work for me as I thought it would.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It's just okay. Should be more stretchy and have a better shape. I prefer the elastic type postpardum support band to this one.
I would purchase this product again
Very comfortable. Helps reduce my c-sec pain. Love it!

I used the support band right after birth. It helped tremendously with the uterus cramping and tightening the skin on my stomach.

Got the size that was suggested for me. The fit was horrible and it made me have awful love handles. Ended returning it.
Store brand is better

This was okay. After trying the Babies R Us store brand postpartum support, I returned the Medela one. This one has 2 Velcro strips but only one pad to fasten it to. So, if you tighten the belt al the way, the first Velcro strip has nowhere to go and just sticks out as a cumbersome scratchy flap. The material was comfortable but slid up too easily.

My first pp support faja was too big size L/XL, so I then purchased a new one size S/M that is too small and they don't make a size M/L.
