My 14 month old son really enjoyed using the Play N Ride Train before he was fully able to walk on his own. He started walking at about 13 months. Prior to walking on his own, the Play N Ride Train provided tons of enjoyment, but most importantly security and confidence. I truly believe that the Play N Ride Train enabled my son to walk earlier. Currently, at age 14 months, he doesn't use the train as much as he did when he was younger. He still enjoys pushing it around at times by the front or with the handle and of course, hiding toys in the flip up lid compartment.

My son received this for his 1st birthday. He wasn't quite tall enough to ride it without being pushed, but he was an early walker and LOVED pushing/pulling it everywhere! He loves "hiding" things in the seat and playing with the noise-makers. I did find the removable handle annoying at first, and considered super gluing it many times...but that isn't something that would prevent me from recommending it. He is now 20 months and enjoys putting the handle back in himself as well as riding it! I LOVE that there are NO BATTERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased this train for my then 8 month old son (he was a very early walker). He loved it from the start. It took a while for him to actually ride on it, but when he did - he took off and he's still going (now he's almost 4 years old). I think if it was bigger he'd keep going for another couple of years. He now uses it as a delivery train. He puts things in the seat and rides around delivering to family members. I love that it doesn't make a lot of annoying sounds - there's just enough fine motor skill function to suit a child's needs on a gross motor skills toy. I would totally buy this again. Besides the hundreds of stickers my son has stuck on it, the train is in great shape. Super, long lasting toy. I'm hoping my daughter will get some use out of it, now.

We had my Dad buy this for our second daughter when she turned one. It was the hit of all the gifts, she could ride it around and it helped her practice her balance when pushing after she learned to walk (this is NOT a walker). I choose this over other ride-ons because it is all kid powered, no batteries needed. Plus the wheels are actually attached to the wheel so it can steered unlike so made of the others. Now my girls are 4.5 and 2.5 and both still like to ride it because they can really fly on it on our tile and wood floors and it turns on a dime.

I did a lot of researching and reading comments before ordering this and overall it is sturdy, good quality, and is just as it looks in the ad. I was personally disappointed in that it didn't turn much, which was something I was looking for, and the back rest/push handle can come out as was mentioned in some of the reviews. I didn't find that it came out that easily and I didn't feel it was an issue for us. My grandson is 18 months old and loves trains, however, comparing this one to others I had seen in local stores, I decided on another one (different brand) which has a little lower seat which is easier for his size, lots of various train sounds which my grandson loves, and overall met his particular interests better than this one. I would have preferred to be able to return it to the store but I was aware of the return instructions when I purchased it.

This toy was a Christmas gift for our 1 year old son. He loves trains, and we wanted to get him one he could use often. This train has been perfect. Our four year old loves it too and they push each other through the house. It has lots of noise makers on it, but best of all, it does not require batteries!!! We love it and I have recommended it to many friends.

My son got this when he was 10 months and just starting to walk. This toy was not really suitable for those who are learning to walk, but once they are walking, this toy is super! He is now 27 months and he still plays with this every day! This is a good buy for us as this is one of his favorite toy. He is tall for his age and still fits perfectly when he rides this "train". The other thing that I love is this toy does not require battery. Finally!!!!!!

After researching many ride on/walk behind toys and reading all the reviews we decided to purchase this one for our 11 month old grandson for Christmas. We are glad we did! He LOVES it! He likes to sit on it and make the top spin and play with the levers on the sides which make noises. The gray nose on the front has small enough "dips" in it that his little hands can make it spin without any problems. He quickly figured out that the seat opens up and he can put toys in it which he did! He played for a long time with it despite the other new toys nearby! The other GREAT thing: it does not have to be lifted to turn corners or go around objects. The front wheels actually turn and once our grandson figures the whole thing out he will discover that the steering wheel (which is the top) actually turns the train!!!
There are only 2 small, easily corrected, drawbacks that shouldn't keep you from purchasing this product. I had read both in reviews before I purchased the train and one had a great suggestion that worked well. It can tip backwards when the infant/toddler is pushing it but a 2# hand/wrist weight works great inside the seat and gives it the weight needed to not tip backwards. The other is the handle-- It doesn't come off when in use by our grandson but does when we lift it to put it away or move out of the way. A simple solution we came up with that worked great--a couple of screws into the base where the handle attaches to the train!
Overall-super toy!!! Well worth the price and the only assembly required--attach the handle!!

I think the concept is great, but the train is easy to tip over. I just found it to be a little tipsy. I think it needs a belt as well for toddlers that may not have that great of balance.
