Purchased for my 8 year old granddaughter. Under total supervision the solutions were prepared. They never completely dissolved. 10 days later, basically nothing. If you want to disappoint your child then definitely buy this!

SAVE YOUR MONEY, DO NOT BUY THIS!!! I followed the directions exactly and the results were terrible. The colors did not come out and the crystals stopped growing after just a couple hours. When I took them out 5 days later, hoping they would continue to grow, they disintegrated right off the rocks and just completely fell apart in my hand. It was a pile of what looked like crushed ice. AWFUL PRODUCT.

I purchased this product at our local ToysRUs as a Xmas gift for my boys. I was VERY apprehensive due to the poor reviews below but it was on-sale and I thought Id take a chance for my science craved boys. I am pleased to report that 1. the directions were included (English & Spanish) 2. the crystals ALL grew. ~ Not sure if they look exactly like the box says, but none the less they grew. It was very easy, my boys + a friend (ages 7, 7, 8) thoroughly enjoyed it. They kept shining a flashlight on the crystals everyday to see their progress. I would recommend esp. when on-sale. (We measured the water exactly as directed, brought to a boil, added to packet of mixture, placed rocks in cups included and poured mixture over, added dye, let sit 2-4 days and the result is attached).

I read the reviews before I bought this product and should have listened to the reviews. It is not user error that is causing the crystals not to grow. So many people can not be using the item wrong. I followed the directions verbatim and still got nothing.

My daughter was very disappointed.

We still haven't been able to do ours. Like others mentioned there we NO ENGLISH INSTRUCTIONS in the box. Only the Spanish. And unlike 99% of products in the world thses days, I can't find a manual online. So annoying. Maybe I can change my review if we ever actually MAKE the crystals...

My daughter received this product as a birthday present. She was so excited to be able to watch crystals grow, but they did not grow. The frosted square crystals are only tiny little squares at the bottom of the container, and the spiky ones didn't even grow at all.

My daughter Tori had to do research science project and she chose Crystals and Gem Stones. This worked perfect for the Crystals.

My daughter received this for Christmas and needless to say there was not a set of directions in the box. Therefore we are not able to use it. I have looked for a copy of directions online and cannot come up with them any where. Guess this is going to end up a total waste! How dissappointing.

Our 9 y/o son got this as a Xmas present and was excited to get right to work. Only problem, both sets of instructions are in SPANISH. NO ENGLISH instruction sheet was in the box.

Save your money!!! This product is an absolute piece of trash. I followed every single direction and 2 weeks later I still have not seen anything that looks even remotely close to the picture on the box.
