Product Description

For the daring and adventurous, there are many lost cities to explore. They are in the Himalayas, the ever-shifting sands of the desert, the Brazilian rain forest, ancient volcanoes and in Neptune's Realm. With limited resources the players must choose which expeditions to begin. Those with high confidence may want to up the stakes: increasing the rewards for success, but risking more should the expedition fail. The player who finds the right balance will find victory! Reiner Knizia is the author of this game designed for 2 players aged 10 and up. It takes about 30 minutes to play.

Comments about Rio Grande Games Lost Cities:

Lost Cities is a daring adventure for two players 10 and up who seek exploration through the Himalayas, the Brazilian rain forest, the ever-shifting sands of the desert, ancient volcanoes and to Neptune's Realm. I brought Lost Cities to my fiance's place and discovered how the game requires an adaptive strategy in order to remain one step ahead of your opponent. Scoring can become difficult without a scratch pad, but after reading the rules you will understand with ease how to tabulate the scores. I recommend purchasing two(2) Lost Cities items if you plan to play with four players. The rules contain a section which covers how to play with partners, however, it requires another set to play.

Comments about Rio Grande Games Lost Cities:

Lost Cities is one of the many Reiner Knizia games that I own which I play with my family. I love the simple, yet thought-provoking strategy which was present during my first round of Lost Cities and continued to grow as I played the game more. The Scoring section in the instructions provides an example with a visual, however, it still may be difficult for a non-avid gamer. Furthermore, some may find this game to be intimidating at first. Only, at first...I assure you. Having said that, the only real criticism I have about this game is that there are not many contents to this purchase. Regardless, Lost Cities requires only a Game Board and 60 Playing Cards to create an endless amount of fun and entertainment with family and children. I hope that you find this item to be as compelling as I did and purchase it soon so you can start your own "Adventure into the Unknown!"

Comments about Rio Grande Games Lost Cities:

Lost Cities is a great two player card game. It's easy to learn. Once you've played a couple times, a game usually takes about 15-20 minutes. So it's fun to go three rounds and add up the points.

On your turn you must play a card from your hand. Do you move on to the next find in the expedition or wait to make more valuable finds? Do you start another expedition? Do you give up some cards to make room in your hand in hopes that your opponent does not take them?

These and more are some of the delicious decisions to be made in this captivating card game. Highly recommended!
