This product is great but not as great as the 1964 model. Still has the great smell but not the same kind of heat like the old one.The new one use a light bulb not a heating element like the old one. As far as molds and goop look on auction sites or google it they are plenty of them out there but they are collector items and newer ones for sale. I would buy this item again and never regret doing so just do your homework.I would also add that for safety reason they had to revamp the old 1964 system to be able to put it on the market for safety reason. So what are you waiting for go out get you one and have fun making bugs....

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter as a Christmas present. We knew it needed a bulb, as it states clearly on the box. We bought a 2 pack of bulbs (the right ones, I might add). After putting one bulb in, she created her bugs, we popped them in the oven, plugged it in, made sure the door was snapped into the closed position, but nothing happened. I replaced the bulb. I tried a different outlet in the house. I put the first bulb back in and tried it in a different outlet. Nothing. Now she is crying. So I took the bugs and threw them in the oven under the broiler. It took a few minutes and some smoke. But she got her two bugs and this toy is going right back to the store today. I wouldn't reccomend wasting your time.

My 5 year old and 3 year old both have a lot of fun using the maker. It is easy for them to use with little assistance from me. Remember to buy a light bulb.

My boys got this for christmas. They love trying to see what color bug they can make next. Easy to use, very cool. It does not come with enough goop. It is very hard to find more molds or more goop in stores. otherwise very good product.

the one i bought my grandchildren works good but while it is baking the goop it actually smokes a little and after making 3 molds half the house had a unpleasant smell from it.

My kids had fun with this until the safety lock broke - it is stuck closed hours after we cooked the last batch. This happened about 6 hours after first use.

Just got this for my nephew who lives with me and cant wait for him to open it on christmas lol might just have to give it to him for st.nick lol was jokeing the other day i dont know whos going to be more happy with this bug maker the 5year old me the 26year old :) i remember this when i was a child n hope he enjoys its as much as i did. how ever being christmas time it is trick to find the goop refill bottles so when u see them buy them then tell after christmas. i called about 6 stores from [...] toysrus and even looked online, finally toysrus had got a shipment of only 5 packs with include 5 bottles so need less to say with no coffie in me yet i rano ut the door in a hurry with my pj pants and went to toysrus to buy the 5 packs they had, again hope he enjoys this as much as i did as a child.

I got this for my daughter she was so exited because she loves creepy things.we got the lightbulb for it and then set it up. we smelt somthing burning.you didnt see smoke but it wasnt a good smell and some of the bugs we made were burnt and some were ok.it was pretty good though but i didnt like the bugs to be burnt
