I bought this game expecting my daughters to not really use it appropriately. My oldest is almost 4 and autistic, and my youngest is almost 2. I am surprised at how well they play this game, and it teaches them to take turns. I taught them to put the leaves in themselves, so it's just one more fun step in the game and also is good for hand eye coordination -- but I could see how a previous reviewer would see it as time consuming, because it is. We also do a lot of counting with this game, counting the bees that fall, counting the bees as we put the in. Overall a great game for the price, and the materials are durable and kid friendly. We own upwards of 30 games/board games and we use them as reinforcers for my autistic daughters therapy -- and she always come back to this one as a reinforcer.

This is a fun game, but an adult needs to set this game up and it is TIME CONSUMING. The little leaf sticks need to go all the way through the hive and it is very tricky as they get tangled up in the middle. It takes me 3 times as long to get it set up for the kids to play it and then they are calling me to 'get the rest of the sticks through' so they can play it again. Also, the hive needs to be turned by hand to set up their 'number' for each child which is sometimes hard for the littlest ones as they can dislodge the bees inadvertantly before they even take their turn. Cute game, but keep these things in mind.

Comments about I-Play Outdoors Honey Bee Tree:

It reminds me of Kerplunk as a child. We decided to go with this being that it was $3.00 cheaper. The only complaint would be the leave sticks are super small & way to many holes in the hive, it takes forever to set it up. The sticks should be thicker, considering we are playing with a 3 year old. Other than that the tree & colors are fantastic!

Comments about I-Play Outdoors Honey Bee Tree:

Been having a lot of fun with this game. Good game to learn n practice counting with 3 year old, and good for fine motor skills. Letting him set up the game n sliding leaf sticks into the beehive. Only thing that I don't like about it is that you have to manually turn the tree trunk to put the opening in front of the player whose turn it is. We have to turn it for my son or he would end up toppling the whole game over.

Comments about I-Play Outdoors Honey Bee Tree:

i wouldnt recommend this particular toy/game to ages 3+. i felt my 3 yr old was overwhelmed with all the leaves you had to put through each hole and out the other. putting through the one hole was easy but in the game itself was atleast 50 to put through one and out the other making these tiny holes uneven. by the time we put every leaf stick in (10 min bc i helped her) she pulled one by one on her turn and all the bees came down which we had 3 players but only took 7 minutes to finish the game. i think the game requires an older age group ex:5 and up and i was dissappointed in pricing although the concept on the cover brought my daughters attention.
