I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. She loved it immediately. All of the instruments seemed to be of high quality. However, the second time we played with the set, she broke the tambourine cover by hitting it with the enclosed stick for the rhythm fish. We will be returning it to the store.

I got this for my 2year and 5month old boy. he really likes it especially the kazoo! If you want to find out if your little one is interested in music, this is a great way to find out. After opening the package my boy handed out the instruments. He started with the kazoo and the rest of us followed his lead. There you have it instant band of fun. We didn't sound very good, however my son was having a lot of fun. Its a great way to have some family fun!

My almost 2 year old busted the paper out of the tambourine within an hour of opening the set. The picture of this item shows several of the instruments painted. However, none of our instruments are painted, they are wood finished with a clear varnish. The sound of the different instruments is okay. The shakers are not very loud, but the rhythm fish has a nice deep tone. The harmonica sounds great, and is not too loud (which is good to me!) I like that the set is not made of plastic.

Make good sounds. Kazoo worked for maybe a day, now it doesn't work for some reason. The items pictured are painted in fun colors but the items I received had no paint on them whatsoever. They're made of wood and just stained in what looks like natural oak in color.

We stumbled upon this little set by accident but I am so glad we did! Our little girl loves music and she plays with this set all the time and it has never broken. She hasn't played the harmonica yet because she is a little young to get the hang of it. (18 months)

We love to play "marching band" up & down the hallways of the house with this set. There are enough instruments to share. When friends come over to play they like to use them too! I would not recommend sharing the mouth instruments though, too many germs to pass on.

This is a good percussion set. Not the best though.
Ratings:

Tambourine: Not so great. Bad sound. Least used tambourine out of my 4.
Rhythm fish: Good. A little tone block. I like it.
Spoons: Also good. Like the grip handle.
harmonica: can't find it.
Kazoo: I don't play kazoo much but this is an okay one.
Shakers: Super Awesome!!! My friend loved the orange one, and the green one was the only instrument, I used in a studio gig.

If you could buy part of the set, I'd recommend the fish and the (super awesome) shakers.

My son loves all the instruments, esp. the harmonica. The variety of sounds is great and it all stays together in a cool little bucket. Great product.

My 2 1/2 year old son broke the "drum" part of the tambourine 5 minutes after we opened the bucket! Seriously, he just banged right through the paper-like material. The rest of the instruments are o.k. ~ but I'd find another product if I were you!!

I bought this item for my daughter's first birthday last month. The rhythm fish broke on the first night. The only toy that has lasted was the harmonica, and that is because my 7 yr. old son took that. The spoons were difficult for my son to play because he had no idea what they were. The only toy that was worth it was the tamborine.
