The Bright Lights Phone is an entertaining, interactive, pretend phone that is sure to bring smiles to baby's face. Features a peek-a-boo display and chunky buttons that are easy for baby to press. This is a really cute toy and very colourful with lots of sounds and lights and it seems to hold my 8 month old daughter's attention longer than most of her toys. We haven't had to change the battery yet and it seems durable, as it's been dropped quite a bit.
The draw backs about this toy is that it's too large and too heavy for baby hands to hold on to. The only time we let her play with it is when one of us is there to supervise her because she has hit herself in the head with it several times, because it just slips from her little hands due to its size and weight. Also, there are no soft rubber parts on it at all. Babies like to put things in their mouths and my daughter keeps trying to chew on the hard antenna part.

I purchased this toy just last night for my son. He picked it up at the store and was obviously enjoying the sounds and lights. Since he was playing with it so intently at the store I purchased it. I didn't realize that this toy, marketed for children 6 months and up was not meant to take a beating. Not fifteen minutes after I dislodged it from it's packaging, he dropped it on the dining room floor and the center button (which switched between a mirror and two other scenes) stopped working. Toys marketed for small children need to be durable, little fingers just don't have the dexterity to hold onto things with any degree of certainty. (Meaning- kids drop stuff, it's that simple.) I'm pretty disappointed that I wasted 16 dollars on a toy that didn't even last a day.

This looks just like our telephone which my son loves to press the buttons. The lights and sounds are entertaining for him and he likes playing with this now. This is a very good bargain!!!!!

I bought this for my 6 month old daughter. It is very colorful, bright, and the sounds are wonderful. My wife thinks I get a bigger kick out of the phone than my daughter, but that's a separate issue. My daughter laughs and giggles through most of the sounds, BUT........there is no VOLUME control as it is much to soft/quiet to be heard unless the room is totally silent. Would give it 5 stars, but low volume knocks it down to 3 stars.

The flip screen broke after one use, and the VTech people would not send us a new toy because this toy is not made anymore. I asked if they could send me a comparable toy and they would not, saying that we had misused the toy. I am furious and will not be buying VTech products again.

My son dropped the phone once on the floor, and the flip mirror broke. So it is stuck on one mode. Toys made for children should be durable enough to withstand one drop on a hardwood floor! I am calling v tec.

I saw a few complaints that this phone is not loud enough. US toy safety standards do not allow higher volumes on toy phones as it's presumed babies will role play and hold up to their ear. This is to protect the child from any potential hearing damage.
