This "diaper pail" functions a lot like a normal trash can. I love that it takes regular bags, and that it's extremely easy to use. I also love that it's fairly easy to clean, and that there's a spot for a deodorizer.

This has lasted us two years, and I have to say has really held up well. We do clean the inside every now and then with bleach and keep air fresheners inside to reduce the smell. I LOVE that is takes regular trash bags. Makes life a lot easier. It is only now that I think we might need to replace it, as we have another baby on the way and our cleanings in between are getting closer together. Plus, 2 year olds have much worse diapers than infants, so that probably has something to do with it as well. All in all, this has served us so well and I am glad we had it on our baby registry. Will probably buy another to replace, since the cost is low too.

Holds the diapers! That's all it needs to do. We do not use the "filter cartridge" Not necessary. Just empty it every few days.

Bought this with my first son because I refused to buy anything that required special bags. Loved it! Often overfilled and the lid stayed tight. Easy to clean, easy to use, easy to love! No issues with smell when changed regularly and I didn't even use the air freshener lid. Lasted about 3 years before I tossed it but only because my son was potty trained. I will be getting another one for my next baby!

I have two of these, one for cloth and one for disposable. I've used them for three years now. I love that they take regular trash bags (or cloth diaper bags). At times, they have started to have an odor problem, but buying Arm and Hammer odor discs to put in the top has taken care of it for us. When my oldest was about 2, he went through a phase where he learned how to open it and wanted to play with it, but we just told him "No touch" and kept him away from it and now he leaves it alone. Overall, great diaper pail and I highly recommend it.

Pros: Uses any garbage bags, easy mechanism Cons: Does not keep the smell in, I could literally smell in on the other side of my house. GROSS

My son is 8 years old with special needs and we received the diaper pail for a baby shower gift. My only complaint is after 8 years the spring in the lid broke but they are not expensive and I will be getting another one. I love that I can use the same tall kitchen bags that I already have for the kitchen. I change the bag out twice a week and have NO problems with the oder. Thank you Safety 1st for this product!!

My only complaint is not so much about the product, but about the gift registry. I went onto the registry to buy a shower present for my niece. I decided on this diaper pail. I tried to order but had difficulties so I contacted a customer service rep. It turns out that if you purchase something from the registry that it has to be shipped directly to the registrant. I wanted to add a decal that went along with the theme prior to giving it to my niece, however I decided I would go ahead and have it have it wrapped and sent to her. But when I asked about gift wrapping it was unavailable. That didn't make sense to me. It seems that if you are sending a shower gift from a shower registry that has to go directly to the registrant you should be able to pay to have them gift wrap it...but no. I decided to order it separate from the registry and 2 other people ended up getting the item for her. Luckily she loved the decal I had put on it so she kept mine.

Been using this for a little over a month. Love that I can use regular trash bags. So far no smells. I've been emptying it when its about half full, just because the bag of diapers gets really heavy if I wait till it fills up. Most of all I love that my very curious yellow lab cannot break into this!

We bought this diaper pale, hoping that it would contain the smell better than the little trash can we were using. After less than 24 hrs and only maybe 3 diapers, I noticed that my son's room was smellier than ever. After 2-3 days, it was unbearable. I don't know how this is physically possible, but it is. Gross.
