My grand daughter is going on eight months and she can push the lids down but she does not yet know how to operate the levers to get the animals to pop up. She is interested and curious though and it will not take her long to work it out. I like that it's a simple, durable toy that is perfect for her developing mind and eye-hand coordination.

I have no idea why my baby loves this toy so much, but she does! We got it when she was 9 months old and she's now 11 months and has played with it every day about 4 times a day. Yes, it is true that when she first got it, she caught her finger (just a bit) while trying to push down the flaps, but honestly it took about 3 tries before she figured out how to *not* catch her finger. I have to make the animals pop up as she's not strong enough to push/move the buttons, but it'll be like a whole new toy once can do it herself. Great toy!!

Timeless classic. This toy has provided great fun for all 3 of my kids!!! Timeless because I remember playing with this with my now 16yr. old. Just as much fun with my 1 yr. old! Can't beat it! even for the price, its a great value! Sturdy, durable way easy to clean! We just LOVE this toy!.....You'll laugh til u cry!!!! ENJOY!!!

My daughter loves this toy! It has taken her awhile to master it. Even at 16.5 months old, she is still not perfect on every button, but it never gets old for her. Her favorite part is closing the lids.

I remember having a toy like this as a child. I like to see that some older toys have been brought back. I don't mind that it doesn't have any sounds or lights. Too many kid's toys have to "do" something to be considered fun. Kids need fewer batteries and more imagination!

Its a simple toy and good price. My daughter was able to differenciate the different animals and learn how to open it. It did take a while for some buttons but she did get it. She got it around 1 year old and learned it within a couple of months. She can play it all by herself.

I bought this product because I was replacing the 20+ year old toy my mom still had (which my son loves). My son loves to look at the animals and close them, however, all of the knobs are too hard for him to open. Even the simple "push button" is too stiff. He gets too frustrated to learn how to open them because of the difficulty.
