Our 18 month old daughter LOVES this toy. She has learned colors, shapes & location. As well as open and close, help & share. Love this toy and would buy it for a friend who is going to have children as well.

So, I'm looking at this and wondering how long it is going to take my 13mo old son to pinch his fingers. I start to read these reviews after the stupid thing fails to work to begin with. Bottom line: poor quality, poor design, recycle it.

so i had great expectations for this toy. It was going to be a great shape sorter since it came with a carrying case and hammer both things my 2 yr old son loves but alas we were both bummed when we got it home. It was hard to hammer in shapes, the sound/light effects were not all that loud or exciting and yes you can easily snap your fingers in the hard to close case. On the positive he can still learn shapes, colors, and still carry around case.

I bought this toy when my son was 6 months old. I'd put the shapes in the holes and he'd push them in. Great right? It was until he started playing with it by himself and closed on his little fingers. So I only let him play with it when I'm right there, or I just give him the shapes and hammer. In addition, the stupid thing goes off randomly, and sometimes even just starts going off for 30-45 seconds. I'll be asleep and hear it going off in the living room... The shapes aren't even in it, so I don't know what the deal is. Bottom line, buy another toy.

This is a great toy. I bought it for my son when he was about 6 months old. I kept it and put it away for any other children. Now 6 years later, my 6 month old daughter has started playing with it and she loves it. All of the sounds and lights still work and it can be easily carried around once the baby is a little older. The kids learn shapes, colors and numbers(there are numbers on the shapes), as well as developing hand-eye coordination. Definately a great toy!

My son got this from his grandmother when he was 2 months old....way too young to play with it....but I took it out when he was about 5 months and since then it has become one of his favorite toys. He loves everything about it! I usually put all the shapes halfway in the little holes and he pushes them all down by himself. I even put it in his crib sometimes and he will play with it for a while.

my now 2 yr old & 19 mo old nephew have had this since they could sit up & are still fighting over it! great colors, noises, & shapes. & what kid doesn't like to hit things with a hammer??

I bought this for my son at Christmas. He loves it! It's a really great toy. The only problem I have with it is that it sometimes won't remain closed while he's carrying it. But, all in all, it's a must have for little boys.
