From the first day my daughter was came home, we started using it. It calms her when we use the heartbeat sound. Small enough so it does not take up much space. But, the volume does need to be at max if it is not close to the crib. Best purchase we made.

I needed a sound machine that would mask our loud neighbors who like to let their children run, scream, and jump throughout the day. This was so quiet that I had to hold it next to my ear when my daughter opened it at her 1st Bday party. I decided to try it anyway and had to turn the fan on. We will return it and get something better or stick to the fan.

I was given this machine second hand from someone who's child was 5 year's older than mine. I can't say how much or long she used it, but when I got it I used it daily for a year. I love that you can either set it to stay on for an hour (or maybe it's 45 minutes) or you can set it to stay on indefinitely for those tougher nights. I also enjoyed the sounds myself-- sometimes when you listen to a white noise machine through the baby moniter it can get pretty annoying after a while but not with this one. Since mine was a hand-me-down it didn't have the wall adapter so I was always on batteries but it still had great battery life. Leaving it on all day and then all night I think it would still last for close to a month. Mine just broke when we travelled with it and now it plays really quietly (like I've noticed some others have commented on). It wasn't padded well in the suitcase and I can only guess that it got a little too jostled. I will probably buy the same one again though because it worked so well for us. The only reason I'd buy a different one is to have one that is a bit smaller. None of the smaller ones I've seen have as many sound options though.

It was great for making noise in my little guy's room. We liked the "wind" sound. Like mentioned, it does not drown out noise but if you just want noise in your kids nursery, it is perfect (especially for the price!). We now use a humidifier in Mason's room and it is not only great white noise but it is medically beneficial and drowns out my husband's mario kart game!

I purchased this to provide some background noise when my child is sleeping. It's very quiet, the highest volume option isn't enough to muffle noise from other rooms. I would definitely not recommend this.

I was happy with this product for the few months we had it. My only suggestions would have been for it to be a little louder, but other than that we loved it. Then one day it just stopped working. No idea why, just stopped. Without the box or the receipt, though, we couldn't exchange it for a new one, either. So we were just out of luck. :-(

This machine is awesome. We have used this machine with our son since he was born and he has slept through the night since he was about 7 weeks old. We use the womb sound everynight and he always sleeps peacefully. We now are expecting our second baby and we are going to make sure this baby has one as well. It has helped our whole family get much needed sleep!

I LOVE this thing! We were having a hard time getting our little pumpkin to fall asleep, and this thing was a life saver! We use the ocean sounds, and it really does help her fall asleep.

My only complaint is that I have to turn the volume all the way up just to get it to be what I think is a "normal" volume. Of all the complaints to have, that one is pretty minor.

I bought this for my mom to use while watching my daughter when I returned to work. I have a different "white noise" machine that I use at home, and I wanted my mom to have a similar routine at her house. The different "while noise" machine I use at home turns up nice and loud (safely loud though, nothing that would hurt my daughters ears). This sound sleeper I got for my mom I wish turned up a bit louder.
